Spanish 1B Class Policies and Procedures

POLICIES:

1.Follow NACS Handbook

2.Spanish only

3.No gum

PROCEDURES:

1. Entering/Exiting: using reasonable voice level and walking

2. Entering late: put the pass in the pass box; if without a pass, see Student Handbook for Tardy Policy

3. Exiting early: inform me at the beginning of class

4. Seated: do not rest your arms/legs on someone’s desk other than yours

5. Materials: are the only items at your desk

6. Beginning Class: begin/end the First activity as soon as you arrive/prepare to leave class

7. Independent Practice: Late credit allotted

8. Research Reports/Projects: typed or hand-written; include sources in the APA format

9. Test: Corrections are due withinthe next two school days

10. Absent: Work is due the day that you return; check about work assigned with the teacher

11. Extra Credit: 5 per year

12. Extra Help: By appointment

13. Grades/Discipline/Progress Reports: see syllabus; project rubrics; reports signed by parent/guardian

14. Changing Activities During Class: listen for instruction; review activities/song/counting/ repetition/question/answer during transition; time left will be communicated

15. Group Work: wait for instructions, repeat instructions; turn in one copy per group

16. Food/Candy/Cough Drops: remove food/candy; inform Señora B of cough drops before class begins

17. Dictionaries: in shelving area

18. Pencil sharpening: upon entry to class

19. Ask/Answer question: raise closed hand for question, raise open hand for answer

20. Bathroom/Drink request: hold up the “o” sign in sign language

21. Tissue: located behind the classroom door

22. Throwing out trash: do NOT crumple trash during class

23. Nurse Pass: tell me immediately

24. Interruptions: Phone/Door/Guest: continue work on assigned activity; if finished, review together

25. Emergency: If no teacher, call the office- 3000. Inform the office of the situation

CONSEQUENCES: In order to improve behavior in a timely manner and receive the highest quality of education; Consequences at each step are documented by Señora B, and students, parents, and administration are informed for consequences 2-8 via e-mail, telephone, or note; if the behavior is of a more severe nature- violent, destructive, removal of student/class would be most appropriate
