VACANCY: ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR : MARKETING MANAGEMENT POSITION NUMBER:VC00749

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching
  • Research
  • Supervision of master’s degree and PhD students

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in Marketing
  • Recent publications in the appropriate field
  • Eight years’ experience in a marketing-related role at managerial level, including a track record of research outputs in accredited journals/conference proceedings, and at least five years’ experience in lecturing in Marketing

Other competency requirements:

  • Proven experience in the commercialisation of expertise
  • Presentation of discipline-specific conferences
  • A proven track record of research outputs and supervision of master’s degree and PhD students
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of email, internet and other social media with regard to teaching and learning
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to function as part of a team, as well as to work independently
  • Good verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans
  • The ability to function effectively in a multicultural and multilingual work environment
  • Personal experience in and knowledge of the issues in the marketing field
  • Good facilitation skills and the ability to work at senior management level in the marketing environment
  • Well-developed academic writing skills
  • A proven record of generation of third-stream income
  • A proven network with national and international academicsat least on the level of Associate Professor
