VACANCY: TECHNICAL ASSISTANT – ELECTRONICS POSITION NUMBER: PC07907

Responsibilities:

·  Create cable routes and mount equipment

·  Draw in cables, strip / terminate cables, connect and join cables

·  Provide services in the department

·  Ad hoc tasks

Minimum requirements:

·  Grade 12, preferably with Electronics as subject

·  Approximately one year’s experience in the same or a similar industry

·  A similar qualification and/or proven experience will be assessed on merit

Other competency requirements:

·  Skills with manual and power tools and soldering in an environment where electronic installations are done

·  Skills with the creation of cable routes, the drawing in of cables, maintaining minimum bend radius

·  Familiarity with different cables, couplers and electronic subsystems

·  A background in electronic systems

·  Basic expertise with regard to security products and audio-visual electronic products and instruments

·  The ability to mount items level and take measurements accurately

·  Basic computer literacy

·  The ability to apply personal time management and be at work on time

·  Good relationships with colleagues and clients

·  The ability to work excellently as part of a team

·  Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in the various functionally multilingual environments of the NWU

Recommendations:

·  N4 or a higher qualification in Electronics will serve as a recommendation

TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: Market related.
