AGENDA ITEM A: Administrative Updates

  1. RFP Discussion: North Summit school district has offered to help with the maintenance of the fields. Board would like to see progress on the field and get the communities excited about seeing something happening on the site. Board would like to see the larger baseball field be developed and be used for softball as well. Check with county to see if they have a template for the RFP. Who will be lead of the project, will the board and hired help be overseers of the development. Recreation district will need to have inspections and possibly have the entire project engineered professionally. Trevor Johnson was present and reviewed the Coalville land agreement and mentioned that the city council is willing to modify the agreement to satisfy both entities. Nate and Brandon to check with Kent and Annette with county about the RFP. Discussed Coalville agreement 1.1.2 regarding recreation district not to build multi use building, but the district would preserve land for the building when one entity was able to fund constructing the building. Check with city to vacate future streets on recreation property, Coalville City ok to assist with up keep of fields but can’t give out money donations. Possibly have Cindy Gooch with JUB design the fields, maybe hold public meeting to see both sides of the discussion for and against fields.
  2. Workers Comp update: Nate is the only employee listed on plan. We can ensure items if they are damaged they can be replaced. Utah local trust informed Nate that the filed can be insured as well, Nate will get actual numbers to insure baseball field.
  3. 5k Run- Recreation district will hold off on putting on the fun run 5k along with Coalville City, but we will plan to develop this next year. We have to much going with the park development.
  4. 5 year plan- Nate contacted Synderville Basin and they have a wonderful plan very detailed. Also have copies of the North Summit Fire Districts plan, we need to have a few meetings to develop our plan. Probably cannot plan out all of it in one meeting it will take some time. Focus on North Summit Fire as template, take 15 minutes of each meeting and plan out piece by piece for 5 year plan.

AGENDA ITEM B: RECREATION DISTRICT UPDATES

  1. Baseball/softball- Still collecting check, deposited $1700.00 in late fees and registration. Nate proposed $10.00 late fee for all sports and board is supportive, it will have to be voted on late. If your child is late, recreation district will assign the team, no parent input. Invited board to baseball on Monday night in Henefer.
  2. Skiing- Contact Canyon and Park City Mountain Resort. Looked into possibilities of how we can make it so the kids can ski and learn. Maybe we could rotate around to resorts and have multiple opportunities for kids. Vail grant for possible $6 million grant and we can put that towards the winter program structures. Grant is due August 1st and we have a great chance to gain money and help get programs off the ground.
  3. Volleyball Camp- Tobin has offered to help with volleyball camp, check with Sam to see what ages will be attending the camp.
