There will be a Veterinary Surgeon and a Farrier ON CALL. First Aid will be in attendance. The organisers of the show have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the HEALTH & SAFETY of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and they must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. No responsibility will be accepted by the organisers for any loss, damage, illness or injury sustained by the exhibitors, riders, or their animals and entries are accepted on this basis. Anyone on a horse must wear a hard hat. Grooms must wear a hat when in the ring.

TSR Riders & In Hand Championships – This show is a qualifier for the 2015 TSR Riders/In HandRegional Championships in Classes 1-13,15-37.

1st and 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring. The two highest placed handlers with a TSR In Hand card will qualify in any In Hand class .Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge –it is the handlers responsibility to have a card. THURSDAY 16th APRIL

MAIN RING

CLASSES START AT 8.00AM AS FOLLOWS:

JUMPING PHASES OF CLASSES 1 & 2 WILL BE COMPLETED BEFORE SHOWING PHASE OF CLASS 1. CLASSES WILL THEN FOLLOW ON IN NUMERICAL ORDER.

All Hunter/Sport Horse classes will be judged under the Society’s rules and SHB(GB) requires all entries in the Hunter classes to be registered. Classes 2, 3, 6-10 are qualifying events for RIHS 2015. The two highest placed horses in classes 3, 6, 7, 8 will qualify. No horse lower than second in its class will qualify. The three highest placed horses in Classes 2will qualify. No horse lower than third in its class will qualify. In Classes 910 - the two highest placed Smalls and the two highest placed Lightweights will qualify and in the heavyweight section the two highest placed Middleweights and the two highest placed Heavyweights will qualify.

Competitors must wear a skull cap or hat and safety harness, according to the current BSI or European standard at all times. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover.

Only horses on the 2015 Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on the entry forms and owners and riders must be full members of the society. Horses in classes 1, 4, 5 and 11 are only required to be registered on the basic identity record or Stud Book of the Society. Any exhibit found not to be correctly registered will be disqualified.

No Horse may be entered in a Ridden Hunter, Working Show Horse class or Riding Horse class at the same show. This does not apply to Working Hunterand Ridden Sport Horse classes.

WORKING HUNTER CLASSESCourse Builder: Gill Pollard

Working Hunter courses are not to be walked by competitors until the judge has given permission.

Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show jumper or Advanced Event Horse as at 1st January 2015 is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter Classes.THE MAXIMUM TOTAL POINTS AVAILABLE IS 100- THIS IS MADE UP OF: JUMPING POINTS= MAX 40 POINTS. STYLE & PRESENCE WHILST JUMPING=MAX 20 POINTS. RIDE= MAX 20 POINTS. CONFORMATION= 20 POINTS. Horses with minus scores may not be required for the second phase of the class at the discretion of the judge. Under no circumstances should a horse with a minus score be in a qualification position.There must be a change of course between Novice and Open Working Hunter Classes.Fences to be a minimum of eight and a maximum of twelve in number. Open class maximum height 3'9" (1.14m).Novice class- min height 2’9”(0.85m) max 3’3”(1m) at the discretion of the judges. Working Hunters may compete hors concours in novice working hunter classes, in the jumping phase only, at the discretion of the show secretary, BUT the horse cannot compete in any working hunter class for the duration of the show. All obstacles are numbered. Fences should have a natural presence and not be easily dislodged .The manner of going to be taken into account. No change of rider or tack will be allowed (unless a horse is ridden side saddle, in which cases in order to allow the judge to ride, the saddle may be changed for the riding phase only). Horses may be equipped with boots of a plain colour in the jumping phase only, rigid or weighted boots are not allowed. No hind boots or bandages of any description are allowed in the collecting ring, warm up or in the actual class. On completion of the jumping phase ALL CLEAR ROUNDS and any other horses the judges may require, should be asked to return to the ring. If a horse positively stops or turns its quarters to a fence or has a complete turnaround, these constitute refusals. If a horse jumps the incorrect fence out of a pen or lane it will be eliminated. Horses displaying continued disobedience or horses leaving the ring whether mounted or dismounted will be eliminated. In the event of a horse falling during a class that horse will be asked to leave the ring and will not be allowed to compete further in that class.

Exhibitors will be allowed tocompete two horses in a Working Hunter Class but following the jumping phase it will be up to the exhibitor to select ONLY ONE horse to take forward into the ridden and conformation section if required.

Class 1: Novice Working Hunter mare / gelding or stallion (Competing stallions must wear a red, white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail), 4 years and over exceeding 148cms (14.2hh approx) not having won a total winnings of £200 excluding championship prize money, (or equivalent values) in prize money in any SHB(GB) affiliated Working Hunter classes. Horses must not have won more than 25 BE points or £200 BSJA Show Jumping at home or equivalent abroad before 1 January 2015.

THE BSPS ‘RUTH LEARS’ CHALLENGE FOR NOVICE WORKING HUNTERS: the first three competitors will qualify for the final to be held at BSPS Summer Championships Show on 26th-29thAugust 2015. Qualifiers do not have to be BSPS members to compete. For further details, contact BSPS Office on 01487 831376.

This does not apply to Novice Working Hunter Classes. Any horse that qualifies for HOYS will not be eligible to compete in novice classes from 1st January 2016.

AMATEUR RIDERS CLASSES

AMATEUR STATUS: A person is an amateur for showing purposes when showing ridden hunters in an amateur class if he or she does not:

a)Engage in livery, buying, selling, dealing or hiring horses as a means of deriving a main source of income since 1st January 2013.

b)Accept remuneration whether it be monetary or goods in kind for employment in connection with horses in a racing, showing, livery stable or riding school. (Instruction at Pony Club or Riding Club excepted)since 1st January 2013.

c)Show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm or a horse for which his or her immediate family accepts livery or training charges from a person outside the immediate concern since 1st January 2013.

d)Show a horse which a professional rider has ridden in any ridden hunter or sport horse class during the current year, unless the horse has subsequently reregistered under new ownership, with the exception of Working Hunter & Ladies Hunter classes.

e)Professional show persons must not enter the Amateur Ring whilst the classes are in progress. A professional show person is another term for a professional producer and as such a professional groom who works for a producer can enter the ring to groom.

f) A professional rider must not ride or exercise an amateur’s horse on the day it is competing in amateur classes.

AMATEUR RIDERS CHAMPIONSHIP

RING 2

BLUE CHIP FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE CLASS

Owners & Riders must be SHB (GB) MEMBERS

THE BLUE CHIP FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE CLASS: the highest placed 4 year old, 5 year old, 6year old and over year old to qualify for THE BLUE CHIP FLAT RIDDEN SPORT HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP to be held at the National Hunter Show 2015. In the event that there are no 4 year olds or no 5 year olds, the top 3 horses, of any age and not already qualified, will qualify( qualification to pass down the line).The 3 qualifiers will each receive a Blue Chip cap and qualifier rosette, with the following prizes awarded; 1st- £30 voucher, 2nd-6th-£10 voucher.

Class 11: Four, Five & Six+ Year Old Flat Ridden Sport Horse

RETRAINED RACEHORSE CLASSES

The Tattersalls, RoR / The Jockey Club RoR Novice Thoroughbred Show Series 2015

These classes will be run the rules of RoR. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorse Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. All entries MUST be registered with RoR and RACEDin GB.Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse’s last run in a race (NH or Flat) or will provide 2 ride judges should entries exceed 20 - Please mark your entry form accordingly.Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited.Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored.

Class 12 will be judged when Class 9 (in Ring 1) commences. Class 13 will follow

Class 12: The Tattersalls and RoR Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse ClassThoroughbred mare or gelding 4 years and over any height. The first three go forward to the championship at the Hickstead Derby Meeting on 28th June 2015. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. Horses will be ridden by the judge.

Class 13: The Jockey Club RoR Novice Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class Thoroughbred mare or gelding 4 years and over any height. To take part in this class, the horse must NOT have won any open show class. (RoR, SEIB/HOYS,TARRA qualifier or any other open show class). Riders must be 15 years or over on 1st January. The first three go forward to the championship at the Aintree National Showing Show,August 2015. Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge; each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than one and a half minutes to include the following movements:Walk, Trot, Canter showing change of leg, extended canter, halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Horses will be stripped for conformation.

Classes 14is a qualifier for the Cherif Championship 2015. The final will be held at the Cherif Championship Show, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre on 16th September 2015. All details and qualifying cards at £25each (payable to Cherif Championship) from: Miss L Temple, The Stables, Ashton Gifford Lane, Codford, WILTS BA12 OJX. Please state the name and accurate height of horse/pony. SAEplease and contact phone number.

In Class 14 two may qualify. The highest placed entries within the first four in the class at a) up to and including 153cms (15.1/4) (White card) and b) over 153cms (Green card) will qualify. No entry placed lower than fourth can qualify even if only one height section is covered by the top four in the class.

All exhibitors are issued with colour coded qualifying cards, which state the height section of the horse/pony. Competitors MUST carry their qualifying cards in the ring to be signed by the judge. Failure to produce the card for signature means non qualification. No cards are to be brought into the ring once the class has started.
