Subject / Information ( Discussion) / ActionReview of minutes from 1/29/15 Board meeting / Approved by Elaine
Summary of LiveOnNY –Our first community educational event held at Nanuet Public Library on 3/16/15 / Well received, we had ~30 people who really created a wonderfully warm atmosphere. Several were organ recipients as well, including a high school boy. A couple came also who had donatedtheir24 yo son's organs-that was very poignant.
All spoke to the need for more New Yorkers to become organ donors-we rank 49th out of 50 states! (Alaska is #1)
Our speakers were Great (& both charismatic!)... Refreshments courtesy of Rockland Bakery; apples, bananas & water & paper goods bought with Stop & Shop gift card; 2-$20.00 raffles of “Chili Bucks” (we gave each person a free raffle ticket when they came in) (Target gift card saved for future use)
