Miss Rowntree, our English co- ordinator, has been busy organising events for next week. Firstly, we look forward to welcoming parents on Monday evening at 5pm to look at how writing can be supported and developed at home. We really hope that you can spare an hour for this meeting in your child's class. This is a key school improvement area in response to our Ofsted inspection earlier this year and we hope to work together with you in order to help each pupil achieve age- related expectations and develop this important life skill. This will be followed by a book swap opportunity on Tuesday where children can simply bring along a book that they have finished with and would like to swap for another. I have already heard that some people have been sorting out their book shelves in preparation for this event! Mrs Hawkins

Penguins Update

After tidying the garden last week the weather held and this week the Penguins were able to plant bulbs ready for Spring & winter pansies. If anyone has any bulbs or spare plants we could always make great use of them. On Monday the children practised their throwing & catching skills and on Tuesday they continued working on landing skills in gymnastics. I know its not always possible but if the children could be wearing leggings or shorts for gym on Tuesdays, it would be most helpful. Alternatively they could have a named pair of shorts/leggings and t-shirt that can be kept at school in a bag.
