Nomination Form for Senior Winton Cup Team 2017

Dear Regional Coaches and Fencers

You are invited to nominate qualified and available fencersor yourself for selection to the Regional Team for the Senior Winton Cup Competition being held on the weekend of 8th +9th July 2017

General Structure

The event will be run over 2 days, fencing with up to 16 teams from other regions. Each weapon team will consist of 3 fencers and a reserve. Each team willfence with another region’s weapon team for up to 5 hits per bout and 9 bouts per match. The aim is to win as many matches against each team across all the weapons.

This is a great event for experienced and up and coming fencers. We aim it to be fun and a chance to work within a team, while representing your Region!

Selection

Due to many fencers from the Region being unranked, selection will be made from seeded fencers from the NE Regional Championships 2015 + 2016, rankings from national open or closed competitions including university competitions, and any other performance that the Regional Committee would like to take into consideration.

Selection will be published on the Regional website at The selection date is the11th June 2017. In case of any injury or situation requiring a fencer to withdraw from the team, selection of another fencer will be of the discretion of the Regional Committee.

If there are selected fencers who are U18rs, the region will provide an official Welfare Officer.

Please note:

  • The Entry Fee for the Regional Team will be paid by NE Region however we are unable to offer any further financial support for individual Fencers.
  • All Fencers must be members of the BFA and be13yrs or over on the 1st of January 2017.
  • We are able to book hotel rooms near the venue but fencers have to pay for all travel and accommodation.
  • Final selections will be made by Beth Davidson and NE Region England Fencing Sub Committee.
