POOLE AND EAST DORSET FOOTBALL LEAGUE
ETHOS, EXPECTATIONS & DISCIPLINE
ETHOS
In the absence of any formal schools football league in the county, a proposal was put together to form a football league amongst the Poole and East Dorset schools allowing students to experience regular competitive football.
The ethos of the league is based on the encouragement of active participation, healthy competition, demonstrating sportsmanship, and showing respect for team-mates, opposition and officials.
EXPECTATIONS
It is expected that all participating schools will:
· Commit to fulfilling all fixtures both home or away
· Play in a team kit
· Send results promptly
· Provide official for home matches
Note: Competent 6th formers may ref under the agreement of both accompanying teachers.
· Abide by the competition rules
DISCIPLINE
Being a close knit group of schools I think that we would all expect that colleagues would use their own professional judgement when disciplining their students. I would expect that if any student is in the process of exhibiting unacceptable behaviour that the accompanying teacher will remove them from the pitch before the referee is forced to do so.
It is expected that Individual schools will use their own departmental/school protocol to follow up any poor behaviour. However, please note Rule 3 of the Competition Rules that state that any player sent off from a game will play no further part in the competition for the season.
POOLE AND EAST DORSET FOOTBALL LEAGUE
GAME RULES
All games should be played in accordance with the FA rules and regulations.
However, can I stress the importance of ‘just playing’ (9v9, 3 3rds of timings, whatever suits your young players). The game is about development, not about results, so please be flexible.
Competent 6th formers may referee under the agreement of both accompanying teachers.
