Meeting called to order at 6:05 PM

Motion to approve Secretary’s report by Lara D. 2nd by Priscilla W

On-Ice

  • Exit interviews coming for coaches
  • Will ask coaches about numbers for next year

Tournaments

Matt D invited Beth Fischer from the CVB to come and give the board an overview of how the CVB is involved with the WHA’s tournament

  • Coordinate dates for the tournaments so not to conflict with other Willmar events
  • Pay for the tournament listing in Let’s Play Hockey (CVB pays for 2 ½ pg ads & WHA pays for ¼ pg ad)
  • CVB makes the registration form & sends it to all hockey associations within 150 miles

Tournament results

  • B Squirts took 3rd in Districts
  • Both Girls 12U & Bantam A went to Regions

Awards Banquet – Brenda B working on it

Need new board members to fill open upcoming spots

  • Priscilla W is stepping down from VP – she doesn’t feel she has the time to commit to being president

WSOA – all invoices have been paid

Fundraising – Karen is working on the raffle and the report needs to be done within 30 days

On-Ice

  • Wants to create an Operations Committee
  • Com-Ed is willing to do a 3-4 week floor hockey league but wants the WHA to be behind them to recruit and to input ideas
  • Mites – Com Ed took over all the mite gear. It is now at the auditorium.
  • Need to create a better list of coaching duties – to include Tues for Squirts & Girls
  • Trying to get back Thursdays for WHA practices

Girls – Karen had a drawing on the last day of practices for rec. She was able to get names, #s and emails for next year

Smith Open

  • Adult tournament only
  • BLC is working on an alumni list for Priscilla to contact
  • Suggestion to change the name to Willmar Hockey Golf Tournament

Motion made to approve last years taxes by Rolf F & 2nd by Melissa H

WHA Storage Closet

  • Melanie A asked for funds to build shelves and hanging racks in the WHA storage room in the Blue Line Arena. Rolf F made a motion for the funds to not exceed $1000 and Tony A 2nd.
  • Need a person to be in charge of the jerseys, medical kits, water bottles, etc so we don’t loose them
