General Classroom Procedures
Be on time to class.
No candy, drinks, or other food is allowed in the room.
Stay in your assigned seat during class.
Have all materials with you, including texts, notebooks, paper, pens/pencils, and your Wheeler planner. There will be no passes to your locker.
Keep all notes, quizzes, tests, handouts, and any other class work for the entire semester in a notebook. The final exam is comprehensive and you will need these items to review later. Keeping yourself organized now will pay off later.
Your name should be on every assignment turned in. If there is no name or I cannot read the handwriting you will receive a zero.
Absolutely no cell phones, i-pods or any other electronic devices will be allowed in class, this is your warning. You will be written up and receive a Saturday School for the offense
Required Materials
3 Ring binder with 8 dividers
Paper
Color pencils
Pen/pencil
Keep all handouts, notes, class work, homework, quizzes and any other class materials in your notebook. .
Cheating
No cheating can be tolerated. A zero will be assigned to all work for all parties involved in cheating.
Cheating includes copying homework, copying another student’s paper, using notes during tests, and all other creative methods of cheating.
Grading
Assignments 45% (homework, classwork, quizzes, etc.)
Major Tests and Projects 45%
Final Exam 10%
Late Work
Assignments turned in late will lose a letter grade for each day late.
Make-up Work
It is your responsibility to find out what you missed while you were absent. Go to the class blog http://pamelawest.typepad.com/blog or the dated folders in the classroom to see what assignments you missed.
You are responsible for any missed notes and must get them from a student in the class.
I will not come after you for make-up work, you must turn in make-up work in the appropriate time frame (1 day for each absence plus 1 extra day) or it will be a zero.
All tests will be announced in advance. If you miss a test you may take a different test than the class and you only have 2 weeks to make it up.
You must come to me to arrange a time outside of class to make up your test-it is your responsibility!
Tests
We will have a test at the end of each unit.
All tests may include fill in the blank, multiple choice, matching, and short answer/essay. There will also be a map portion of the test.
ISS/OSS
It is your responsibility to get ISS/OSS work from me in advance!
If you do not ask for work or do not contact I do not have to let you make up your work
Work must be completed and turned in to me the 1st day back to class, or no credit will be granted
If you are suspended from ISS, you may not make up missed classwork
