Call to Order and Sign-in / Kathy called the meeting to order.
Additions to Agenda / None
Approval of August 7, 2014 minutes / Jim motioned to approve and Heather seconded minutes.
Treasurer's Report / Bill Kanine unable to attend. Maggie reviewed recent computer issue. Also discussed Child Abuse Council travel/meals reimbursement for State Conference on October 6-8. Sue H. motioned to approve reimbursement and Deb approved.
Great Start Collaborative Update / Maureen Hollocker-September 27 Professional Development session for parents/daycare providers.
Needs Children’s Books and Halloween Costumes. Child Networking Net dates have been set and will be forwarded to Council Members. Posters have been translated to Spanish and Chinese. Speaking at State Child Abuse Council Conference at end of October and also at PAM conference panel discussion. Working on Great Start Strategic Plan and Work Plan. Also on National Alliance to do Train the Trainer trainings for Protective Factors.

HSCB- Reviewed Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (Alice) household info; These are households with income above the federal poverty level but below a basic survival threshold that includes being able to pay for housing, child care, food, health care and transportation.

September 24-HSCB Mtg (9-10:30)-Maggie to present CAN Council information and Board Members encouraged to attend.
October 14 6:30-8:00-McLaren presentation at NCMC re: Preventative Medicine for Living Well; Dr. Mark Moyad: great speaker.
Safe Sleep-Maggie spoke at Kiwanis; they are interested in purchasing several Halo Sleep Sacks for McLaren Northern OB.
Reviewed Spring Conference speaker and format info. Friday, April 17, 2015 at NCMC with Registration at $45 Early and $55. Maggie ordered books for review.
Festival on the Bay-thanks to Heather, Karen, Jim, and Sue for helping with Petoskey Stones activity.
Grants: Maggie met with person from St. John Episcopal Church and received $2000 check for Council.
Court: Heather and Maggie attended court for sentencing for local defendant.
Oct. 11 8-4 Conference at NCMC-Ben Tanzer from Prevent Child Abuse America is speaker.

Heather-Discussed Tribal Court and parental rights termination.
Sue Hoffman-has own office now on State St. Petoskey; working with courts and Tribal Social Services. Also working with Spring Arbor and MSU.
