Player Expectations:
With the increased competition within all W&G’s Representative age groups, and in-line with the W&G’s Committee’s expressed intent to make NLD CB rugby more aspirational there are a number of developments to this year’s programme; one of which is the introduction of minimum expectations for ALL players selected for U15/U18 and Senior Representative Squads. Although not a definitive list this is a minimum expectation NLD is placing on ALL Women & Girls Representative players this season. This is to ensure that players selected for the programme get the best possible experience and opportunity to progress.
· As a commitment to the NLD CB programme all Representative players are expected to attend a minimum of 66% of training sessions. (If individual players are unable to make certain training dates they must contact their Head Coach with an explanation as to why. Failure to do so may result in removal from the Representative squad. Individual’s circumstances will be taken into account).
· All Representative players are expected to make themselves available for a minimum 75% of Festival/Matches. (If individual players are unable to make certain training dates they must contact their Head Coach with an explanation as to why. Failure to do so may result in removal from the Representative squad. Individual’s circumstances will be taken into account).
· All Representative players will be asked to complete an Individual Feedback Form and submit to their Head Coach within 2 weeks of completion of their CB programme. (The commitment works both ways and NLD RFU are committed to improving the NLD W&G programmes).
· All Representative players must wear current NLD Socks and Shorts when taking to the field and representing their CB.
· All Representative players MUST purchase their own NLD Socks and Shorts through the O’Neill’s online shop. https://www.oneills.com/shop-by-team/rugby/rugby-union/nld-rfu.html Anyone may purchase any NLD merchandise but only Representative players will receive the 10% on-line discount voucher.
· All Representative players are required to wear an NLD top, (Apex T-shirt or Polo), in the clubhouse; any version being acceptable. (NLD recognise that purchase of NLD branded items is an additional cost to parents/guardians/careers. In cases of hardship, representation will be dealt with on an individual basis and in the strictest confidence).
· This is a two-way commitment between interested parties and ALL players can expect the following from their NLD Coaches and Managers.
· Timely, open and honest communication.
· Constructive feedback on individual’s performance whether at trials or after a game.
· Support and guidance throughout the programme to aid player development.
· Emphases to be on player development not “win at all costs”.
· If you have been selected as a Representative player you will have at least minimum game time over the course of the seasons CB programme.
A completed copy of this application should be brought along to the Trials and passed to the squad Manager.
The Player Expectations, (page 3), is for your reference only and does not need to be returned with the completed Application Form.
