Conahy Notes

NICKO GRIFFITHR.I.P.

The sudden death of Nicko Griffith, Tullowglass, Jenkinstown last week cast a gloom over the parish and especially within Conahy Shamrocks GAA Club. Nicko was one of the Club’s Presidents at the time of his death.

As a player Nicko enjoyed a long playing career with Conahy and was a prolific forward, mainly playing in the full-forward position. He was also an able administrator for the club, serving as both Chairman and Treasurer. Nicko also served as Conahy’s representative on the Northern GAA Board. He was a hugely committed club member, working tirelessly at fund-raising and other club activities. In the mid-sixties Nicko was as a Selector with the Kilkenny minor hurlers.Conahy Shamrocks GAA Club extends condolences to Nicko’s family at this sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
