Terms of Reference

This document references the Briefing Document –Network Regional Groups, Review and Constitution: Version 7, May 2005[1]

Purpose

The NICaN Regional Primary Care will lead, influence and continuously develop the contribution of primary care to cancer services to ensure high quality person-centred care in Northern Ireland.

The Group will bring together those interested in the planning; development and delivery of cancer care in primary care and will:

  • Be the authoritative source of expertise and guidance to planners, commissioners and providers of services, reflecting the collective experience of primary care
  • Ensure that primary care plays a key role in the shaping and delivery of cancer services in all care settings and across the Network
  • Be the forum for sharing good practice and innovation and advise on implementation strategies
  • Develop and deliver an annual workplan drawn form the following work strands:

Workforce development

Quality, monitoring and evaluation

Service organisation, improvement and design

Education and learning

Policy context, political awareness

Research and Development

Membership

Membership will be open to all those interested in the planning; development and delivery of cancer care in primary care in Northern Ireland.
