“NEXT FOOD NETWORK STAR” COOKING SHOW VIDEO ASSIGNMENT

For this project, you are to create a 3 minute webcastin the format of a “cooking show.” You will film this commercial and edit it using iMovie. You must storyboard the project in advance—decide what you want to do. You must direct and edit your film, but it is up to you whether you act in your film or not. Feel free to use classmates/friends/family to do the acting or filming.

**Finished film must be uploaded to Schooltube.com for viewing

Be sure to plan this out in advance. Timing is critical! Have plenty of cutaway shots to help you in editing. And, most of all, have fun with it! Don’t bore me to death!

Note: The concept is cooking show, but as long as it’s kitchen/food related, it will work. You could do something like cookie decorating, cleaning the microwave, or some other related topic. Just be sure to get it approved in advance.

Attach completed storyboard that includes angles and post-production planned effects; teacher must sign off on storyboard before you are allowed to film (this video would be difficult to film during class time unless you specifically work it out with a FACS teacher, cafeteria, or other location; it would be ideal to film outside of class or at home, so either use your own camera or reserve a camera.)
