U11 Blue and U12 Teams Runners Up in Berks Rally
Woodley U11 Blue lost narrowly to Eagles 4 -3 in the final of the Berks rally this weekend after having won their group , quarters and semi final games convincingly (team picture in photo gallery).

Woodleys U12 team also lost in their Berks Rally final having again playedsome great netball in the group and knockout games. (team picture in photo gallery)

Woodley Hornets finish top of division two!
Woodley Hornets final game of the season was against Tadley. The pressure was on ,although they had guarenteed promotion with their last victory against Tongham they were now determind to hold on to the top spot in the division. Strong centre court play and creative movement from teh shooters enabled Woodley to lead 15-6 after the 1st quarter, Tadley rose to the challenge in the 2nd quarter changing their shooting combination. Woodley's defence worked tirelessly tp create turnovers and they maintained a lead of 21-16 at half time. Windy conditions really effected the rest of the game but Woodley remainedpatient andworked the ball in as close to the post as they could. The final score stood at 41-36 to Woodley, the overall winners of division 2!

Tight game between Woodley Spitfires and Wokingham Saphires
The match started off evenly with just 3 goals seperating the two sides after the1st quarter. There was nothing to seperate the two sides at half time with the score standing at 28-28. The game was extremely competitive, Woodley made a few errors with their passing in the last quarter and Wokingham defended really well. The game ended 33-35 in Wokinhams favour.

Woodley Hornets continue their winning ways in Berkshire Prem
Hornets game against Tongham was extremely important this weekend, because winning would ensure that they would be promoted to division 1 next season. Woodley's passion to win was clearwith the half time score standing at 20-10 in the Hornets favour. After a good all round team performance the match ended 46-23 to Woodley. If Woodley Hornets win their final match they will have won the division!

Woodley Hornets win convincingly against Eagles 3
The start of the game was very close, each team scoring goals off of their own centre passes. three turnovers in the middle of the quarter, however, saw Woodley ahead 9-6 at the beginning of the second quarter. Woodley fought hard in the next two quarters, allowing Eagles to score just 3 goal whilst they scored 14. Woodley continued to battle on throughout the last quarter (which actually ended 8-8) resulting in a well-deserved win of 30-16.

Woodley Spitfires beat Panasonic in a very close match
The match was very even throughout and at every quarter time there were only ever two or three goals seperating the two teams. Both teams played some really good netball but Woodley managed to push ahead for the win with the score standing at 34-31 at the final whistle.

Woodley Hornets are still on track to win divisiontwo of the Berkshire premier league!
After getting out of the starting blocks slowly in the first quarter due to a lack of games in recent weeks Woodley began to pick up pace in the second quarter. They took the lead through determined court play and accurate shooting, with back up from a first class defence. This allowed considerable turnovers and Woodley continued to push ahead 27 – 11 as the bell rang for the end of the first half.
Throughout the remainder of the game Woodley dominated play throughout the court,changes to the teamwere made and they continued toextend their lead. The attack was linked in through accurate passing from Nicky Everitt allowing them to control the shooting circle. The third quarter ended 45 – 22.
The grit of Woodley did not let up despite their lead and a final team effort meant that Finchampstead were unable to come back.A truly seamless team performance from Woodley Hornets culminating in a solid win. 58-27.

Woodley Spitfires loseto Wokingham Sapphires
The match started off evenly in the first quarter and ended 9-11 to Wokingham. Wokingham’s defence were very strong and made some really good interceptions which prevented Woodley from scoring the goals needed to keep the gap to a minimum. Although Woodley had some good court play Wokingham kept the gap with accurate shooting and good defending. Some good competitive netball. The final score was 29-37.

Narrow losses for Woodley in the Bracknell league
Woodley Tempest lost by one goal to Chaffinch with the final score standing at 35-36 to chaffinch. Everyone played well, it was tough as the defence were good. In the first half the shots were going in well and we were leading. Rachel and Olivia played well in defence along with Jo at WD. Our center court plays were brilliant but unfortunatley we couldnt get that one to draw level. It was unlucky but a good match.
Woodley Spitfires played 3M and also lost by just one goal. The play was even throughtout the match with some good court play and defence play by both teams. The play was goal for goal through most of the match however Woodley were ahead by 3 goals most of the time. After some changes on the Woodley side play continued very evenly with good netball. Just in the last minute of play 3M had a flurry of goals which took them ahead by one goal. In the last few seconds Woodley missed the chance to level the score and the final whistle blew at 38-37 to 3M. The match was played in good spirits and in a friendly manner by both teams and some good competitive netball was achieved. Well done to both teams.

Woodley are leading the way in the Berkshire Premier Netball League
Woodley Harriers are currently in second place in division 1 of the Berkshire Premier Netball League with Woodley Hornets going one better and sitting at the top of the table in division 2.

Woodley Spitfires narrowly beat Nemesis
Woodley started each quarter very well but didn't capitalise on the extra goals awarded for Nemesis arriving late. Court play at times showed real team work especially as some of the core players were absent. Well done to both teams and special thanks to Olivia James for playing up for us.

Loss for Woodley 1st team
Woodley started the game with a close and highly competitive first quarter, with the lead changing throughout. The defence of Sam Houghton and Anna Warne worked hard to overcome the consistent Rushmoor GS.
Rushmoor stepped up their game in the 2nd quarter but Woodley responded well with the attack working hard to penetrate the oppositions strong defence. Woodley made some changes at half time, taking the court 5 goals down. With great pressure from WD Steph Gardner, Woodleymanaged to forceRushmoor to makeerrors,unfortunately it wasn't enough and the score at the final whistle was 39-50 to Rushmoor.

Woodley first team win in south region
Woodley started the game with a strong and positive attitude. Despite some great phases of play, Woodley found themselves losing at the end of the first quarter due to some accurate shooting from opponents Fleming Park. Woodley made some changes in the defensive end and managed to stay within a few goals of Fleming. The fourth quarter saw Woodley take the court with energy a determination. Strong performances and vital interceptions by Steph Gardner and Fiona Stewart along with excellent attacking play saw Woodley take the lead and keep it, with the final score standing at 46-44 to Woodley.

Woodley Hornets defeat Eagles 3in the Berkshire premiere league
Woodley and Eagles both started well from the first whistle and it was clear to all those watching that it was going to be an exciting game. The first quarter ended 8-9 in favour of Eagles and after another hard quarter the two teams were still only split by one goal at half time, with the score standing at 19-20. The dominant defensive team of Tania Everitt andSophie Eager managed many turnovers and the balance in the second half began to tip in Woodley's favour. Excellent shooting from Clare Sutherland and Laura Geir, particularly in the last quarter saw Woodley end the game victorious at 49-37.

Wildcats only just defeated
Unfortunately Woodley Wildcats lost their first game to Eagles in an extremly close game. Both teams worked very hard ending the first half 19-19. Wildcats tired slightly in the second half but kept up their efforts managing several great interceptions and scoring goals. The final score was 34-38.

A win for Woodley Tempest
Tempest lead from the start in their game agianst Crowthorne on Saturday.With great interceptions from Chrissie, Rachel and Olivia,hard workfrom Alanna and some wonderful goals scored by Charlotte the final score of 44-21 was reward for great team performance.

Wildcats win again!
Woodley Wildcats continued where they left off last week winning their second matchon Saturday. The first quarter was very close with Woodley only leading by a few goals over opponents Greenfinch. Woodley managed to surge ahead in the second and third quarters and found themselves winning by 20 goals going into the final quarter (35-15). Wildcats kept on the pressure winning the final quarter and ending the match victorious with a score of 47-24.

Spitfires take time to get going
Woodley Spitfires had a slow start to their first game of the season, poor defending down court made it easy for their opposition, Hilton, to pass accurate long balls into their tall GS. Club Captain Jo Garwood was on hand to coach the team after a lot of encouragement the team managed to really get it together in the final quarter. The final score saw Spitfires defeated 33-48 but they stunned Hiltonin thefinal quarter byscoring animpressive 13 goals to their 7!

Wildcats win their opening match in Bracknell division 4
WoodleyWildcats won their opening match of the season this Saturday, beating opposition Bullfinch 35-32. After opening up a 10 goal lead in the first half Wildcats saw the score tied at 32-32 with just minutes to go in the final quarter. They managed to maintain their concentration and pulled ahead to finish the game victorious at 35-32.

Woodley get off to a winning start in the Berkshire Premier League
Well done to both Woodley Harriers and Hornets for winning their opening games in the Berkshire Premier league on Saturday 13 September.
Woodley's first team theHarriers beat Wokingham Red 35-28 and Hornets had an impressive 39-15 win over Trinity 2, with several of the Woodley girls playing their first games in the Premier League.

Pre-season tournament success
On Saturday 30 August Woodley's 1st team entered the SAS netball tournament in Welling Garden City.
They had a very successful morning winning five of their six games, narrowly loosing their first game against Wealdon by one goal which was scored as a penalty on the final whistle.
In the afternoon teams were divided into groups with three teams in each. With South Regional division one team Clan in their section, they knew they had a tough task ahead of them. Clan dominated the first half but Woodley fought back finally being defeated 7-13. They went on to beat Old Actonians 9-3 in their final game.
