News Release Incident: Motor Vehicle Crash

On Tuesday September 26, 2017 at approximately 11:35 am the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to Delilah Road in the area of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia building, in the Cardiff section of the township, for a motor vehicle crash.

A 1996 Toyota Camry Driven by Damalyn Garcia-Serrano of Landisville was traveling west on Delilah Road near the rear parking lot of CHOP. The Camry crossed the double yellow line and crashed into an eastbound 2007 Chrysler 300 driven by Christopher Bercaw of Galloway.

Serrano was transported to ACMC City with serious injuries. Bercaw was transported to ACMC City with moderate injuries. The front seat passenger in the Chrysler, Amparo Ramirez of Mays Landing, was taken to ACMC City with moderate injuries. The front seat passenger in Toyota, Betsy Garcia of Landisville, was taken to ACMC City with moderate injuries. Ambulances from Hamilton Township, Egg Harbor Township, and Atlantic City Airport all transported patients. The Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.

Delilah Road was shut down between the Black Horse Pike and English Creek Avenue for approximately 2 hours with assistance of the Hamilton Township Police Department. The crash was investigated by Officer Thomas Rocco of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit. Summonses issued for careless and failure to maintain lane to Garcia-Serrano- Summons issued to Ramirez for failure to wear seatbelt.
