News From Your Library
Did you know that on April 7, 1913 the John B. Curtis Free Public Library was officially incorporated? We have received a very attractive certificate from the State of Maine commemorating this event. This event also means that we are getting very close to celebrating our 100th Birthday. The library officially opened in 1915. The trustees of the library are discussing ways to remember and celebrate those 100 years. Keep your eyes and ears open for information on upcoming events.
We are still collecting used ink cartridges and cell phones to recycle. These items earn extra money for the library. And don't forget, you can also help the library raise funds by using Goodsearch as your search engine on your computer. Just put John B Curtis Free Public Library (no period after the B) as your choice of charity. And while it is still a long ways until Bradford Days next July and thus our Annual Book Sale, remember us when cleaning out those book shelves. We are happy to take your donations anytime the library is open.
Please return your books on time. For your convenience, there is a book drop at the Bradford Town Hall. When dropping off books, please include a slip of paper with your name on it so we know who the books are from. Unreturned books and DVDs are one of the biggest problems we have. Remember, they are NOT your books. To keep them is the same as stealing them.
Looking to make some year end donations? Remember, the library is a tax deductible, 501 c(3) non-profit corporation. We are happy to accept donations of any amount. Thanks for considering us.
