SEPT 2009 Newsletter

News from the committee:

The Gisborne Pony Club HORSE TRIALS are coming up in November (15th) we still need lots more volunteers – its not hard work – you really don’t even need to have much horse knowledge to do most of the work required. Sue Hollins will hold a meeting after lunch to start handing out jobs, If you can help out please try to attend or let Sue know you are interested and she will allocate a job to suit you.

In preparation for the Horse Trials the October rally will be a HT training day. The riders will be instructed in the 3 disciplines Dressage, Show jumping and X Country. Riders will need to learn the dressage test for their grading, copies of the tests will be available on the table in front of the club rooms on rally day.

Liam Hartz will be holding a Jumps Clinic on November 7th – it will be open to Pony Clubbers & Open riders. The cost will be $20 - $25 depending on attendance & open riders will need to pay a $5 daily attendance fee. Please let Ann Bush know if you are interested in attending.

If you are interested in purchasing a Woolen jumper please let Jo Winther know in the uniform shop at lunch time. They will be approximately $60.00 each and the club needs to buy them in batches of 15 – so if there’s no interest they will NOT be purchased

As you are all aware Ann is stepping down as DC next year. If you are interested in putting your hand up for this position let Ann know. To make the transition easier Ann would be more than happy to show you what is involved over the next few months prior to the April AGM.

Working Bee:

As our October rally will be a horse trials training day we will need to hold a working bee on the Saturday prior to the rally – Sat 3 October at 2.00pm to set up the show jumping and flag the X Country course – many hands make like work so please mark this day down in your diary.
