KNIGHT VALOR AWARD
Knight Valoris a Newport High School PTSA program recognizing students who have completed 100 or more community service hours above the 40 hours required by Bellevue School district for Graduation.
*PTSA follows the same guidelines as the Bellevue School District regarding acceptable community service hours. Community service is any service that is done for anon-profit organizationand/or religious organizations. School service is also accepted.
* For activities that occur over more than one day, a maximum of 10 hours/day is allowed. * When submitting more than 20 hours over a range of time, please attach a volunteer log describing the service done during extended hours (summer day/overnight camp service excluded). You may start tracking your hours AFTER you complete 8th grade.

NHS Knight Valor Community Service Award Form:
NHS PTSA is introducing a NHS Knight Valor Award Form to be completed when turning in Community Service Volunteer hours for theKnight Valor Awardrecognizing students who have completed 100 or more community service hours above the 40 service hours required by Bellevue School District for graduation.
Keep a copy of all hours submitted for your own records.
PTSA will no longer enter community service hours above the 100 needed to earn KV.
The KV hours form are to be turned into the box marked NHS PTSA KNIGHT VALOR in the NHS Main Office. Your KV Community Service hours will be entered into the PTSA Community Service website by volunteers. It will take a few weeks to enter hours after received. You will be able to track the total hours earned on line using your student ID number. Once KV is earned it will be listed on your site. There will be no further need to turn in extra community service hours. Keep your own records of additional hour earned.
Each school year priority for entering hours is for Senior and Junior classes. Lower class hours will be then entered but will not be awarded until the Spring of their graduation year.
Students will be able to track the KV service hours on the PTSA website. The official KV Awards are given out in early June. Seniors who have earned their KV will be able to purchase a KV pin to wear on the graduation gown.
