- Work effectively as part of a team driving forward an expanding multi-channel marketing department
- Manage frequent communications to an extensive database of previous and prospective customers
- Work with the Data Analyst to target and segment customer data
- Execute print direct mail and email campaigns
- Report on performance, results and testing
- Create marketing recommendations for future activity based on pre-agreed campaign messaging
- Manage the Study and SportExperiencesBranch of the Newmarket Group from strategy input and implementation through to all aspects of marketing support
- Support web and digital strategies, and other branches within the Newmarket Group
- Work to achieve the company’s strategic goals and objectives and contribute to strategy and growth plans for agreed areas of the business

Key Accountabilities:
Newmarket Holidays Branch
- Project manage direct mail promotions, campaigns and programmes to Newmarket's database of customers within agreed budgets and timescales and with all relevant approvals
- Assist with project and production management for all print and digital campaigns, promotions, programmes and brochure creation
- Provide original copy for marketing and email campaigns whilst providing fast and accurate copy edits on existing documents
- Proof all marketing materials to ensure consistency, sense and accuracy
- Recommend data segments to create targeted and measurable promotions and email campaigns
- Apply testing where applicable to continually review and improve all email and direct marketing materials and activities
- Contribute to, and critique on the content, design and production of direct mail literature and other marketing materials where necessary
- Assist with campaign management and production to support the Study and Sport 2018 – 2019 Plan
- Project manage email and direct mail promotions, campaigns and programmes to the Study and Sports database within pre-agreed Study and Sport Experiences budgets and timescales and with all relevant approvals
- Assist with project and production management for all print and digital campaigns, promotions, programmes and brochure creation

- Proof all marketing materials to ensure consistency, sense and accuracy

- Extract data segments from Spirit (a third party educational database) and maintain and develop relationships with The Education Company who own this database
- Support the CRM Specialist in implementing a new CRM system (Workbooks) for the Study and Sport Sales team
- Keep up to date with competitor activity in this area
- Apply testing where applicable to continually review and improve all email and direct marketing materials and activities
- Contribute to, and critique on the content, design and production of direct mail literature and other marketing materials where necessary
- Assist in maintaining the consistency and integrity of the Newmarket logo and brand across all areas of marketing within the Newmarket group
- General Marketing support on upcoming projects as required
- Build relationships both internally and with external suppliers and other contacts from quoting, negotiating, scheduling, briefing, production and approval of creative, through to execution of promotions
- Proactively work with internal departments to improve working practices and creative materials
- Work collaboratively with cross-company teams and key decision makers to ensure strategic objectives are met and projects realised effectively and efficiently

WHAT IS NEEDED TO CARRY OUT THE ROLE?
Person Specification (Key Skills And Experience Required)ESSENTIAL
- Relevant hands-on marketing experience to a level commensurate with key accountabilities and job purpose
- PC Literate – Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Strong commercial acumen
- Experience of working with an Email Service Provider (preferably Dotmailer)
- Knowledge of print mailing production processes and postage buying
- Knowledge of brochure production processes
- Proven track record in writing effective sales & marketing copy for digital and print
- Strong all-rounder with project management, organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible approach to working to meet changing priorities as demands dictate within a fast changing environment
- Self-motivated team player who builds strong relationships with colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders
- Prepared to have some flexibility in working hours from time to time in order to implement time sensitive projects
- Experience of, or proven interest in, the ‘direct-sell’ UK travel market would be beneficial
- Educated to a degree standard
