Newman Civic Fellows

The Newman Civic Fellows Award honors inspiring college student leaders who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for challenges facing communities throughout the country.Through service, research, and advocacy, Newman Civic Fellows are making the most of their college experiences to better understand themselves, the root causes of social issues, and effective mechanisms for creating lasting change. These students represent the next generation of public problem solvers and civic leaders. They serve as national examples of the role that higher education can—and does—play in building a better world.

One student will be selected as a Newman Civic Fellow for Missouri State University for recognition at STAR Awards, publicized through Campus Compact, and be part of a Missouri cohort of student leaders. Any faculty, staff, or student can nominate a student for this award.Self-nominations are accepted

Students must be a currently full-time enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing. Preference will be provided to students who will remain at Missouri State University for another year.

Nominations are due: February 28, 2014. All nominations will be reviewed by an independent review team and the nominee will be notified by March 6th. The nominee will be announced at STAR Awards on April 28, 2014 at 5:30pm.
