5.1A and 5.1B - use place value to read, write, compare, and order whole numbers through the 999,999,999,999/use place value to read, write, compare, and order decimals through the thousandths place. / ·  Presentation does not include all 8 of the scavenger items (section a).
·  Presentation is not in the proper format (section b).
·  Presentation does not include a picture, place value the item represents or the actual number of the item. / ·  Complete a presentation that includes all 8 of the scavenger hunt items in the proper place values starting from the thousands place up to the billions place. The items can be in any order.
a)  Scavenger items:
1. cost of something
2. world record
3. population of something
4. distance of something
5. weight of something
6. speed of something
7. height of something
8. national debt of a country
b) Presentation can be a:
Power point, Photostory, book
or poster.
c)  The presentation must include
A picture of the item, what place value it represents, the number itself. / In addition to everything in the proficient column:
a) Found an item for the

Note: These items can be anything you want.
b) Put each number in expanded form.
Communication:
·  Speaking voice:
--Speaking at level 1 - Cannot hear what is being said.

Boys: T-shirts, shorts, jeans, tennis shoes, flip flops
Girls: T-shirts, shorts, jeans, tennis shoes, flip flops / Communication:

--Speaking at level 2 – speaking clear, but everyone might not be able to hear
·  Posture:
--facing audience, makes some eye contact
·  Professional dress
Boys: Nice shirt, tucked in &
pants (no t-shirt, jeans or tennis shoes)
Girls: Nice outfit (no t-shirt, shorts, jeans or tennis shoes) / Communication:
·  Speaking voice:
Speaking at level 3 - Clear and loud enough for audience to hear
·  Posture:
--standing straight, facing audience, making eye contact
·  Professional dress
Boys: Dress shirt, tie & slacks
or suit and dress shoes
Girls: Dress or nice pants &
Blouse and dress shoes.
