New Students: Pleaseask your current language teacher to fill in the requested information;your teacher should check off which Friends Academy course is the most appropriate fit for you. Also includes cultural project work. This course goes more quickly than French 2 and works more on reading comprehension, writing and speaking.

_____French 3:D’Accord,Level 3.Continues with vocabulary studyplus more extensive emphasis onpassécomposé vs. imperfect, more work with relative pronouns, plus more sophisticated negative and interrogative expressions. Also includes cultural project work.

_____French 3 Honors:D’Accord, Level 3 plustwo short novels.Covers all of the above plus introduction to thepassé simple, past conditional,and more extensive work with the subjunctive, negative, and interrogative expressions. Also includes more extensive oral and written production through interpersonal and presentational communicative assessments.

_____Spanish 1:Descubre, Level 1.Covers basic vocabulary, regular, stem-changing and all irregular verbs in present, ser/estar, and conocer/saber, plus limited practice of the preterit.

_____Spanish 2:Descubre,Level 2. Continues with vocabulary study, with particular emphasis on preterit vs. imperfect, progressive tenses, command forms, future and present perfect, and subjunctive with personal and impersonal expressions.

_____Spanish 2Honors: Descubre,Level 2. Continues with vocabulary study, with particular emphasis on preterit vs. imperfect, progressive tenses, command forms, future and present perfect, and subjunctive with personal and impersonal expressions. _____Chinese 2: Integrated Chinese, Level 1, Part 2. Covers all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing; level 2introduces 1,137 simplified characters; stroke order for each new character is displayed, along with its pinyin pronunciation and English translation. Students will be introduced to an increasing number of authentic materials written for native Chinese speakers.
