New Programs and Program Modifications

Faculty will present proposed programs and modificationsto Department Chairfor discussion,approval, or disapproval.

Department Chair will submit requests and modifications to School Deanfor approval.

Graduate Commission, if applicable,will review requests and modifications,approve or disapprove, and submit documents to School Dean for approval/disapproval.

School Dean willreview documents, approve or disapprove, and submitrequests and modifications to VPAA for approval or disapproval.

Vice President for Academic Affairs will review documents, approve or disapprove, and submit to Institutional Research and Planning.

Institutional Research and Planning (IRP)will review documentsfor correct course prefixes, numbers,or assign course numbers,etc. and return documents to School Dean.

School Dean will review requests and modifications,make changes or corrections,and submit requests to Academic Policiesand Curriculum Committee.

Academic Policies and Curriculum Committee will review requests and study for approval or disapproval.

Approved documents will be read by an editor and submitted to University Senate.

University Senate will review request on its first meeting and approve or disapprove documents on its second meeting.

Academic Affairs will review and submitfinal draft to Regents (if applicable), InstitutionalResearch, and Registrar’s Office.

Regents will review document(s),approve or disapprove,and notify Academic Affairs.

Submit new programs and substantial changes to Higher Learning Commission for approval prior to starting the program. (Distance Education only)

Upon HLC approval, Academic Affairs will notifySchool Dean and Registrar of approval and submit document to UDS for entry in program inventory.

Institutional Research and Planningwill input modification changesand notifyAcademic Affairs, Registrar, and School Deans.
