NEW OR AMENDED RULES FOR 2016.
At the BSPS Council meeting held on Wednesday 3rd June, Council agreed to make the following changes to the rules for 2016
RULES: 192, 194 AND 195 - NURSERY STAKES
It was agreed that the age of the Nursery Stakes riders should be reduced to 12 years. The height of the fences to remain the same for 2016 but a note sent to Course Builders to be mindful when building RIHS qualifiers that the courses are not all set at maximum height.
RULE: 46 - HATS
It was agreed to delete the EN1384 hat from our current list of approved hats from 2017
RULE 283 – PRETTY POLLY RULES
Riders and leaders can only ride or lead animals owned by their immediate family.
RULES: 311, 311A, 311B - HERITAGE PRETTY POLLY (RIHS) RIDDEN MIXED BREEDS CLASS
It was agreed to judge theclass as a whole but to bring all ponies in a walk and then divide the class for the go round into small and large breeds and then line up the two section together to do the individual show and conformation and the result will be decided on the highest scores achieved.

Animals eligible for Restricted Classes must not have been placed 1st to 8th at the RIHS or HOYS in the relevant Class in 2014, 2015 or the current year (Except Pretty Polly)
RULES: 333, 346 and 450a - HERITAGE RESTRICTED CLASSIFICATION
Animals eligible for Restricted Classes must not have been placed 1st to 8th at the RIHS, HOYS or Olympia in relevant Class in 2014, 2015 or the current year

RULE: 501 - GUIDE LINES AND ADVICE TO JUDGES
Amend rule to read “Tiny Tots First Ridden” and “Heritage Tiny Tots First Ridden” for clarity.
RULE: 462 – WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS
FIRST PONY OF SHOW PONY OR SHOW HUNTER PONY TYPE
Not exceeding 122 cm. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Snaffle bridles only. No cantering is allowed except for individual performance, ponies must leave ring at walk or trot.
ADD NEW RULE after 466
If a Competitor dismounts in the Final Line-Up, their placing will not be awarded.
RULE 477 B
Judge BSPS Classes at shows on the same day where members of their immediate family are competing.
ADD AFTER 453BNEW CLASSES FOR WINTER SEASON
RESTRICTEDRIDDEN PART BRED PONY CLASS, Mare or Gelding,
4 years old or over not exceeding 148 cms.
Riders any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
RESTRICTEDRIDDEN PART BRED PONY CLASS, Mare or Gelding,
4 years old or over exceeding 148 cms but not exceeding 158 cm.
Riders any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 14th birthday before 1st January in the current year.
