“NEW” INTERMEDIATE STARSkate/PROVINCIAL COACH

ISPC COURSES (Formerly known as NCCP Level 2)

All coaches who are Level 1 Certified or who have completed the Level 1 Technical course (Phase 1, 2 & 3), who have a Skate Canada Coaching membership and who hold a valid First Aid Certificate are invited to register for the following ISPC courses.

1.  ISPC General Subjects Home Study – Coaches wanting to begin their training in the ISPC program MUST COMPLETE the General Subjects Home Study prior to attending the Sport Science and Stroking/Skating courses. Please see separate application for details and cost.

2.  Sport Science (1day) – Will cover topics such as physical preparation, mental preparation, nutrition and planning all in which are crucial areas to produce well rounded athletes

3.  Stroking & Skating Skills (1 day) – Will cover the “basics” of stroking and much more including Senior Bronze and Junior Silver skating skills tests

NOTE: All coaches will be required to attend the Sport Science and Stroking & Skating Skills courses prior to registering for the following technical courses.

4.  Singles (1 day) – Will cover effective techniques to teach all six double jumps and spins

needed to train athletes at the Sr. Bronze/Jr. Silver STARSkate & Juvenile competitive level

5.  Ice Dancing (1 day) – Will cover various elements of ice dancing, Senior Bronze and Junior

Silver compulsory dances, costuming and total athlete packaging and much more

6.  Pair Skating/Synchronized (1 day) – Will cover key elements to develop and train juvenile

pair skating teams and factors of difficulty & various technical elements in Synchro skating

COURSE DATES & FEES:

Sport Science Thursday August 30th, 2007 $ 100.00

Stroking & Skills Friday August 31st, 2007 $ 140.00

Singles Saturday September 1st, 2007 $ 140.00

Ice Dancing Sunday September 2nd, 2007 $ 140.00

Pairs/Synchronized Monday September 3rd, 2007 $ 140.00

If all five (5) courses are taken at one time the fee is $ 600.00 in total – Four (4) courses - $ 500.00

* Fees include workbook marking fee for all courses.

* Payment can be made by cheque, VISA or Mastercard

LOCATION: SASKATOON – Off-Ice – Remai Center – 510 Cynthia Street

On-Ice – A.C.T. Skating Center – 107 – 105th Street

TIME: Each course will run from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (no on-ice for Sport Science course)
