The Scholarship Bulletin includes local, national, and college scholarships. Many colleges have scholarships which will not be listed here. Students are encouraged to inquire at the office of financial aid at the colleges they are considering. Please be aware of deadlines. If a scholarship requires a transcript and letters of recommendation the guidance office needs 7 – 10 days to process the application.

Columbus Citizens Foundation Scholarship Program / Applicants must be of Italian-American decent. They must demonstrate financial need and exhibit academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or higher) and service to their community. Dante Foundation Italo- American Heritage Scholarships / Students of Italo-American ancestry and who reside in Nassau or Suffolk County may apply. Applicants must have achieved high standards in academics, participate in extracurricular and score above average in the SAT or ACT exams. / Several $5,000 scholarships are awarded. Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund / Applicants must demonstrate financial need and participation in expanding civil rights, economic justice, and international solidarity. Students must submit a short personal statement, transcripts, and letters of support. / Up to $10,000

FASNY Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Volunteer Scholarship Program / To apply the applicant’s parent/legal guardian must be a member in good standing of the FASNY. In addition applicants must be a current junior fire fighter, Explorer Scout or Ram in a volunteer department, a volunteer fire department, or a volunteer with an EMS agency; and have demonstrated both a commitment to volunteer emergency service and to the community. / Fifteen $1,500 scholarships will be awarded / March 15, 2014 / Applications are available online.

LEAGUE Foundation Scholarship / For high school seniors that have been accepted to a 2 or 4 year college and identify as a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender person. Must have a GPA of 3.0 and show that they have been actively involved in community service. The Vegetarian Resource Group College Scholarships / Applicants must be high school seniors that have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities.
