OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The role is viewed as being key in enhancing the College’s responsiveness in meeting the needs of the adults, communities and key partners; and in achieving our corporate targets and quality standards.

The successful candidate will join a small team of dedicated hardworking and committed staff able to work flexibly within the working week and year.

Strong inter-personal skills are required for this post as the College and Service continues to expand quality provision and meet targets. The ability to work as part of a team and to be self-motivating is essential.

We are excited about out future and are seeking someone to share and develop our vision for adult learning

ESSENTIAL PERSONAL QUALITIES OF THE POST HOLDER

This is a challenging post playing a key part in the continuing success, development and expansion of adult learning across the City.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic individual who is learner focused: who has an understanding of the market in which we operate and values the opportunities available through partnership working. Our colleague will be clear-sighted, able to meet challenges head-on, with the ability to identify new opportunities and to develop those opportunities, exploiting them to the best advantage for our learners, the local communities and Adult Learning Service. JOB PURPOSE

In liaison withManager,toplan and deliveran effective, high-quality information, advice andguidance serviceto clients to meet National Careers Service targets and Matrix and Ofsted quality standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Contribute to the planning, promotion, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of an effective and high-quality learner IAG Service

2.In liaison with the Manager, assist in achievingan agreed annual contract funding target an, working to monthly profiles to carry out individual IAG appointments and group sessions to ensure that all National Careers Service contract profile targets are achieved within budget and thatOfsted and Matrix IAG quality targets are met

3.To ensure all associated documentation is completed to agreed deadlines and to a high standard

4.In liaison with the Manager, to take a responsibility for researching and maintaining appropriate current resources for Information, Advice and Guidance and train appropriate staff in their use.

5.Contribute to IAG task group meetings and to the production and updating of the Matrix Quality Improvement Plan and staff training

6.Assist in ensuring regular College representation at IAG Networking and National Careers Service subcontractor meetings

  1. Participate in ensuring the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
  1. Participate in ensuring the College’s Equality and Diversity duty is met
  1. Participate in maintaining the Investors in People (IIP) and MATRIX IAG Standards
  1. Contribute to maintaining a minimum Ofsted Grade 2

GENERAL DUTIES

  1. To ensure that the Service/Colleges policies with respect of Equal Opportunities are fully met.
