The Euroclassica Homepage

A dynamic concern requires dynamic public relations. The Euroclassica plattform fully programmed in server-side PHP script language is the ideal basis for a flexible, modern and expansible linking of European teachers of Latin and Greek.

The current version of the homepage is already available in 17 European languages and is intended to provide multilingual menues including all European languages in the final version.

login: This button is reserved for the admins of the website.

latest: this clickable word provides access to the materials that have been uploaded the last month.

forum: This button provides access to discussion groups

events: This module allows for the publication of important dates and events. An allocation to one or more specific countries will be provided (These specific dates will show up in the respective country communities accessible through the clickable map of Europe, see below!)

projects: Provides access to current interesting projects featuring a calendar based filter.

curricula: quick and comprehensive survey of the classical language curricula throughout Europe.

upload: topical materials can be uploaded into the database and assigned to appropriate categories to guarantee easy and intuitive access to information

go: The homepage features a search engine of its own which provides for quick research in the database. Enter a key word and click GO - the results are displayed on the screen.

categories: This botton allows access to various categories, under which uploaded material is placed (see above!). Categories may be easily extended and adapted to meet current needs. The following categories, which are just intended as mere examples to show what is possible, are presently available:

Europe: provides access to a clickable map of Europe.

Clicking on a country will open the community of the respective country

The country communities offer the following features:

1. Multilingual menus, of course also in Latin (not yet installed).

2. Extra- and intranet-facilities, i.e. parts of the homepage may be strictly reserved for internal information transmission.

3. Content management via PHP database.

4. Online administration: country communities are to be managed by country administrators.

5. Homepage tools (no programming know-how required) allowing an individual design of the community and providing the installation of provincial subsites.

This topspot provides direct access to a Latin e-learning platform widely used in Austria and designed to be adapted to the different needs and requirements of all the members of the European community and thus eventually form the basis of a Latin Platform on a truly European scale.

This topspot provides direct access to the subcategories of Nuntii Latini

Academiae:

This topspot provides access to a page dedicated to EUROCLASSICA’s summer schools Academia Homerica, Academia Latina and Academia Ragusina.

ECCL:

This topspot provides direct access to the European Curriculum for Classics and the Certificate for Classics.

A workshop for the country administrators of Euroclassica is planned to be offered in Linz (Austria) to train the management and administration of the communities.
