Suggestions for successful new club generation:

  1. Work with Darrel Felty – New Club Chair and Tom Willison – Club Rescue Coordinator
  2. Build a pool of coaches, mentors, sponsors
  3. Promote the brand – what’s great about TM
  4. Members are the best marketers
  5. Develop a culture of success
  6. Keep club websites up-to-date, at least every 2 weeks
  7. Have a handout of features, benefits, values
  8. Have giveaways like a bookmark
  9. Have a “media day” at one Division Council meeting to look at and update webpages.
  10. Look for member achievements outside of TM to publicize

Community

  1. Identify newspapers, newsletters/ use targeted marketing
  2. Find places to meet with companies to sponsor that meeting place
  3. SnapChat for marketing campaign
  4. Google Hangout – live video (free) – record and put on YouTube
  5. Speechcraft
  6. Work with Chamber of Commerce – get directory of members
  7. Local car dealership conference room
  8. Manufacturing associations, HR associations, non-profits – membership lists
  9. Find a zip code that is underserved
  10. Door-to-door flyers – look for a potential champion
  11. Churches
  12. Anywhere you can find 30 interested people to attend the demo meeting
  13. Senior Facilities
  14. English as second language classes
  15. Pot luck and meet at member’s homes
  16. Competitive Speakers like a StoryTeller’s Club
  17. Leaders in sports, government

Corporate

  1. List of corporations with Toastmasters clubs (3,000 of them!) -
  2. In SriLanka – They held a CEO breakfast meeting to explain TM – 25 came
  3. Can run Speechcraft first to test interest at the corporation
  4. Contact Human Relations officer – target new hires
