Job Summary:
Brief description of the job scope and purpose / Possess the relative skills and experience to set and operate Horizontal Boring/Drilling machines and Vertical/Horizontal Honing machines, in the manufacture of metallic components to specified quality standards.

External: Tooling suppliers, Training bodies.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
List of the key responsibilities and duties associated with the job
/
  • Set and Operate machining centres, in meeting all aspects of
Drilling/Boring/Honing operations.
  • Ability to read and work from Engineering drawings, meeting specified
Quality Standards.
  • Ability to calculate Cutting Speeds and Feeds relative to engineering
materials
  • Ability to operate semi-CNC controllers (inputting data)
  • Fully Inspect work-pieces, using imperial and/or metricmeasuring
instruments.
  • Produce work of a high standard, including the Inspection and De-burring operations in completion of work components.
  • Work largely unsupervised and be highly self-motivated.
  • Work shift system and overtime as business requires
(Week-ends included).
  • Be Flexible in working requirements as the needs of thebusiness dictate.
  • Operate overhead and pillar type cranes/Lifting equipment.
  • Comply with all Schlumberger QHSE Policies and procedures.

Previous Experience and Competencies:
Experience/Education Required:
e.g. BEng Electrical Engineering
e.g. 2-3 yrs directional drilling experience in deep water environments
Required Competencies (special knowledge and skills) / Education:Completion of school education
Recognised Training Qualification in an engineering
discipline (eg. NVQ or equivalent)
ExperienceProven work experience in a similar machining and
manufacturing environment
Competencies to be kept current: / Skills- Good understanding and working knowledge of
engineering drawings, manufacturing methods, tooling
and machining skills.
