New Applicant Excel Template

  1. Make sure that Macros are enabled in your pc. Click the below link forguidance

How to enable Macros?

  1. Open the excel template downloaded from the website.
  1. Start filling in all the details.

In most of the fields, the values can be selected from the drop down as shown below

  1. All dates in the respective fields should be entered in the format DD/MMM/YY where

D stands for Date, M stands for Month and Y stands for Year.

Ex: To enter a birthdate of 1st March 2012, applicant has to enter this date in application sheet as 01/MAR/12. Refer below snapshot.

  1. Extra rows if needed can be inserted for following sections by placing the cursor on thelast row of each section

After insertion of rows, additional data can be fed.

6.On completion of filling the data, photo of the seafarer can be inserted into the

Template using the function “Insert photo” as shown in the below screenshot

On clicking the option, you will come across an open dialog through which you can select the image file as shown below

Note: - Only JPEG / BMP / GIF images can be inserted.

7.After photo is selected, click on Validate & Save inorder to save and make sure all the entries are done correctly in the application form.

  1. After filling all the details you can send the template back to the office by

using the Send option as shown below.

It will create an email with the template as attachment. Refer to screenshot below

OR the same template can be sent manually as attachment.

Please use the email address to send this application.

This excel file with the completed data will be imported into the database.

How to enable Macros?

There are 2 ways of enabling Macros.

1)In case a security warning message is shown after opening the xlt, follow below steps:

  1. Click on Options
  1. You will get a separate screen as below. Select Enable this content and click OK

Now the Macros settings is enabled and applicant can start entering the details in sheet.

2)If Macros settings needs to be enabled from Excel Tools option.

  1. Go to “Tools  Macros  Security…” as shown below
  1. In the next window which comes across, please select the option “low” and

then click OK.

Once the above is done then re-open the excel file.
