Networks/Collaboration

With the support of CCA Project there is an activity of collaboration with Red Cross and non-Red Cross partners working on CCA/DRR issue at national and local level for developing partnership and collaboration with different Universities (have Department/ Institutions/courses on Disaster Management), local Government institutions and local service providers for integration and implementation of CCA/DRR at local level planning and research. Under this activity BDRCS will conduct training/orientation for LGIs, local service providers

(i.e. agriculture, fisheries, livestock, primary health) and their partners (NGOs, CBOS, etc.) on their role in integration and implementation of CCA/DRR actions. On the other hand, BDRCS will get opportunity to research, enrich knowledge management in the field of DRR/CCA.

To fulfill the above mention activities we have build partnership and collaboration with the following institutions and organizations:

  1. Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies under University of Dhaka (known as “IDMVS”) for establishing partnership and collaboration in research, knowledge management and humanitarian diplomacy (advocacy) in relation to DRR/CCA. IDMVS offers and facilitates academic programs for graduate, post-graduate, MPhil, PhD and post graduate diploma students. IDMVS is involved in conducting research, organizing seminar/conference, symposium, workshop and policy dialogues on climate change, environment, inequality, vulnerabilities and resilience and other relevant issues at national and international levels.
  2. Collaboration and strategic partnership is established with BRAC university for offering advanced course, action research, conducting academic studies and research for continue knowledge update in the field of DM/CCA/DRR
  3. For ensure the insurance coverage of all project staffs and volunteers involved in the project. A partnership is developed with Delta life Insurance Company Ltd.
  4. Establishing liaison with Action Research for Community Adaptation in Bangladesh (ARCAB) of Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies-BCAS, known as BCAS-ARCAB through participating in different events e.g. meetings, workshops etc. The objective of this partnership is to extend mutual cooperation and to share skills, resources and responsibilities for the pursuit of commonly agreed goals that will contribute to the serve for the vulnerable people.
  5. Establish strategic partnership with BARCIK between with the objective of providing technical support to each other in terms of their respective area of expertise which is beneficial for projects, particularly Climate Change Adaptation-CCA project, intervention at an optimal level and Document best practices and showcase etc.
