Netball Coaching

Netball coaching begins Thursday 1st October and will run until Thursday 3rd December.

All P6/P7 girls are encouraged to attend. The coach will be Charmaine McCrum and the club will be from 2.45pm – 3.45pm each week. P6/P7 girls only.

Wings Appeal

A special word of thanks to Mrs Mashall and the P5 class on their very successful Bun Sale. All proceeds raised £108.79 was donated to ‘The Wings Appeal’.

P1 Class

From Thursday 2nd October all P1 children will remain in school until 2.00pm.

Book Fair

This year the Book Fair will take place in the school assembly hall from Tuesday 6th October – Friday 9th October. Money can be sent into school in a sealed envelope and the class teacher or classroom assistant will support your child in selecting a book. You are also welcome to come in with your child between 8.30am and 9.15am. The book fair will also be open between 2.00pm – 3.30pmeach afternoon to select a book.

Parent Interviews

Parent Interviews will be held between Friday 16th October and Thursday 22nd October. We would greatly appreciate your attendance at your child’s interview. Please note All pupils leave school at 2.00pm Friday 16th October – Thursday 22nd October.

Halloween Holidays

School will be closedon Friday 23rd October for Teacher Training – Halloween Break – Monday 26th – Friday 30th October school will re-open on Monday 2nd November.

Cash for Clobber

Please remember our old clothes collection which will take place on Friday 16th October. All proceeds will go towards a special Halloween Treat for all children.

Drugs Awareness

P6/P7 are being delivered a series of drug awareness workshops as part of our Pastoral Care Programme. They are being given the opportunity to explore the adverse effects of misuse of drugs on the human body and developing skills which will help them overcome peer pressure. This is the first time we have been given the opportunity to avail of these workshops and we are hoping all pupils will find the workshops informative and beneficial.

Swimming Lessons

P6/P7 are enjoying their Monday morning swimming lessons at Brownlow Swimming Pool. These lessons are provided free of charge and we expect all pupils to attend each week except where a note is provided to the class teacher giving a valid reason for absence. Please support us in encouraging your child to attend every week.

E- Safety Interactive Workshop

P5-P7 thoroughly enjoyed an E-Safety workshop provided by BEAM. This workshop was free of charge and helped to further embed e-safety messages delivered to our pupils as part of their studies. This workshop was held on Thursday 1st October.

Dance Classes

P1-P3 are enjoying participating in a five week dance programme organised by Active Communities Coach Miss Rafferty. Please make sure they have their PE kit with them for this class every Friday.

Flu Vaccine

The school nurse and her team will be administrating the flu vaccine to all pupils on Wednesday 21st October. We are not encouraging parents to attend on this day.

Attendance Month

We will be having a small reward for every child from nursery to p7 who attend school every day during the month of October. Please encourage your child to attend school every day. Thank you for your support in this matter.

World Language Day 2015

Many thanks for supporting us on our World Language Day 2015. All staff were amazed at the many beautiful costumes and the creative thinking that had gone into making them. A special word of thanks to Mrs Davison in the canteen for making our dinner so special on the day. I hope you have been hearing a few French or Spanish words already as we begin to introduce these languages into the school curriculum.
