NEIONE Annual Report

2017

The Northeast District held the following meetings this past year.

January 11, 2017 – Meeting at Orthopedic Hospital, Officers set for 2017 term, Theresa Bradtmiller remains as President for 2017, with Michelle Walters President-Elect. Elana Garcia will be the new Secretary/Treasurer for 2017-18. Meeting schedule finalized.

March 1, 2017 – University of St Francis. New calendar presented and approved. Rita Deininger put together a new membership list on a spreadsheet on Excel. Membership has increased with new members coming from the University of St. Francis, Cameron, and Dupont Hospital. This list will be sent to all members. Presentation from USF CRNA Program director Marquessa Fisher.

May 2, 2017 – Hosted at Cameron Hospital in Angola, Indiana. Transferof paperwork of Secretary/Treasurer from Rita Deininger to Elana Garcia. Updates regarding IONE Spring Conference, and AONE Annual Conference. Planning initiated for NEIONE Fall Conference in Ft Wayne. Presentation from Sharon Springer CNO @ Cameron Hospital on Nursing Practice Models, Shared Governance, followed by a tour of the new facility.

July 5, 2017 – Hosted at Warsaw Freestanding ER.August conference deferred to September. Planning for NEIONE Fall Mini-Conference. Date to be September 6th @ Adams Memorial. Main speaker to be Dr Dave Johnson speaking on Mindfulness, followed by Theresa’s presentation on Rural Health and becoming involved as Nurse Leaders.

Presentation from Bridget Johnson, CNO @ Whitley Hospital on project planning for Freestanding ER, followed by a tour of the new facility.

September 6, 2017- Conference: Dr Dave Johnson presented “The Zen of Mindfulness”. Theresa provided a presentation on Rural Health and becoming involved as Nurse Leaders. Also presented was a summary of NEIONE, IONE, and AONE: differences and benefits. Mary Browning ED was in attendance and addressed the group.
