Applications are invited from registered General Practitioners to:-

  • support local engagement and understanding of the key issues facing the neighbourhood
  • develop local relationships within the neighbourhood
  • support development of services to agreed access, equity and quality standards while allowing for tailoring to local needs

The role of the Network Clinical Lead is to provide clinical leadership to the Network to support the delivery of high quality and equitable core primary care services across the neighbourhood and support the development and provision of integrated health & social care services for the people who are registered for general practice care within the catchment area of the Network (as described in Appendix 1 of the job description).

A priority will be to drive clinical quality improvements across all aspects of primary and community care in the neighbourhood and which are aligned and supporting the patient quality and safety agenda (e.g. 1000 Lives Plus).

The Network Clinical Lead will report to the Primary Care Clinical Director and work closely with the Divisional management team and other officers of the Health Board and the other Network Clinical Leads to ensure delivery of Health Board objectives. The Network Clinical Leads will work as a NCN team across the Health Board and to progress a shared agenda. They will operate under the direction of the Assistant Medical Director of Primary Care, in order to work collaboratively and progress pathways which shift patient care from secondary into primary/community care services.

You will be able to demonstrate a proven record of leading change aimed at raising performance in healthcare, a strategic thinker with highly developed communication and negotiation skills, able to command respect amongst colleagues, of problem solving and of achieving service improvement and change.
