Classroom Rules
- Enter the room quietly, read the teacher “love” note, get your supplies, find your seat, and begin working on your warm up activity.
- Be respectful (to the teacher and other students)
- Raise your hand when answering questions
- Remain in your seat until dismissed by the teacher.
- Cell phones will be collected and returned at the end of class.
Tardy Policy
You will be considered tardy if you are not in your assigned seat with your supplies for the day when class begins. School tardy rules apply.
Disciplinary
- Verbal Warning
- Call home and 30 minute lunch detention in my classroom.
- Office Referral
In the case of an extreme offense you will receive an office referral immediately.
Grading
Tests/Projects- 60%
●3 unit tests
●1 nine weeks test
Classwork/Homework/Quizzes- 40%
Re-evaluation
You will have the opportunity to relearn the material at a tutorial session and be re-evaluated.
*Please know that the only test I will not be able to adjust will be the 9 week test.
Cell Phone Use
Cell phones will be collected at the beginning of class and returned to the student when class dismisses. Some reading lessons will require devices to be used in the classroom and at that time cell phones will be permitted.
***Cell phones can ONLY be visible during lunch and recess. If a cell phone is out in the hallway, it will be taken up. If your phone is taken up twice by any faculty member, parents are responsible for picking it up from the office and paying $15.
Supplies
-Your 1 inch binder will stay on the shelf in the classroom at all times. This folder will keep all of your work neatly organized under the five labeled tabs.
-Your reading journal will stay in the classroom unless you need it to study for a quiz or test. Reading journals should be picked up as you enter the room and dropped off as you leave every day.
-If you lose your reading journal you are responsible for coming in and collecting all the materials you need on your own time.
-HEADPHONES!!! We use them for iStation.
Bathroom Passes
You will receive 3 bathroom passes per 9 weeks for reading. You will only be allowed to leave the room to use the restroom if you are working on an independent assignment or have completed your work. You will not be allowed to use a bathroom pass during a test, quiz, or group activity.
Turning in papers
You will turn your assignments into the stackable trays according to your class period tray in the back of the room. The assignment must be placed in the correct tray in the back of the room.
Absences
You will receive your ABSENT folder when you return. The folder will be located in the basket named “Absent Work”. Inside the folder will be an assignment sheet with all your absent work. Complete and return ALL the work to your teachers. Again, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get your absent work.
