As part of the Social Justice curriculum these documentaries teach how nonviolence has overcome oppression and authoritarian rule, how political defiance and civil disobedience can overcome dictatorship, and how countries that have experienced massive human rights violations have created truth commissions to air and acknowledge the abuses so that victims can regain their dignity and society can be rebuilt.
