ThejournalContributions, SectionofNatural,Mathematical andBiotechnical Sciencesisanofficial publicationofthe MacedonianAcademyofSciencesandArts.Itispublishedtwiceayear.The journalpublishesori- ginalscientificpapers,shortcommunications, reviews,professionalpapersandeducationalpapersfromall fieldsof:

naturalsciences– physics,chemistry,biology,geography,geology;

mathematicalsciences–mathematics,informatics;

biotechnicalsciences–agricultureandfood,forestry.

This journal also publishes, continuously or occasionally, the bibliographies of the members of the MacedonianAcademyofSciencesandArts,bookreviews,reportsonmeetings,information onfuturemeetings, importanteventsanddates,andvariousheadings whichcontributetothedevelopmentof thecorrespondingscientific field.

Theoriginalscientificpapersreportunpublished results ofcompletedoriginalscientificresearch. Experimentaldatashouldbepresentedin awaythat enablesreproductionandverificationofanalysesand deductions on whichtheconclusionsarebased.The manuscriptsshouldnormallynotexceed6000 words.

Theshortcommunications shouldcontaincompleted(butbrieflypresented)resultsoforiginalscientific research.Themanuscriptsshouldnormallynotexceed2000words.

Thereviewsare submittedattheinvitationoftheEditorialBoard.Theyshouldbecriticalsurveysofanareain

whichpreferablytheauthorhimselfisactive.Thereviewscanbelongerthantypicalresearcharticlesbutshould generallybelimitedto 10000wordsincludingreferences,tablesandfigures.

Theprofessionalpapersreportonusefulpracticalresultsthatarenotoriginalbuthelptheresultsofthe

originalscientificresearchtobeadoptedintoscientificandproductionuse.Manuscriptsshouldnormallynotexceed

4000words.

The educationalpapersreportonthe activitiesin the laboratoryand classroomand the needsof the communityofeducatorsinallmentionedfields.Manuscriptsshould normallynotexceed4000words.

Submissionofmanuscripts

Theauthorsbearthesoleresponsibilityforthecontentofthecontributions. Itisassumedthatbysubmitting theirpapertheauthorshavenotviolatedanyinternal rulesorregulationsoftheirinstitutionsrelatedtothecontentof thecontributions.Submission ofapaperimpliesthatithasnotbeenpublishedpreviously, thatitisnotunder consideration forpublicationelsewhere,andthat,ifaccepted,willnotbepublished elsewhereinthesameform,in Englishorinanyotherlanguage,withoutthewrittenconsentofthePublisher.

Acoverlettermustaccompany themanuscriptsubmission.Itshouldcontainfullnamesofallauthorsandtheir affiliation,themanuscripttitleandthenameandcontactinformationforthecorresponding author.Pleaseprovidee-mail addressandphonenumber.

Preparationofmanuscripts

Preparetheentiremanuscriptindouble-spacetyping,on numberedpagesofA4format withmarginsof2.5cm oneachside.Do notuse footnotes.

Thepapersshouldbewrittenintheshortestpossiblewayandwithoutunnecessary repetition.Theoriginal scientificpapers,shortcommunications, professionalpapersandreviewsshouldbewritteninEnglish.AnAbstract andlistofkeywordsinMacedonianmustaccompany eachmanuscript.Forcontributions byauthorswhoarenot speakersofMacedonian,theabovedata willbeprovidedbytheEditorialBoard.

The manuscript should contain: title, authors names and addresses, abstract, key words, introduction,

experimentalortheoreticalbackground,resultsanddiscussion,acknowledgement(ifdesired)andreferences.

Title.Itshouldbebriefandinformativebut shoulddefinethe subjectofthemanuscript.Itshouldincludemost ofthekeywords.

Authorship.Listthefirstandlastnameofeachauthor.Omitprofessionalandofficialtitles.Givethe completemailingaddressofeachauthor.Forthecorrespondingauthorincludeane-mailaddressandaphone number.Thenameofthecorrespondingauthorshouldcarryanasterisk.

Abstract.Eachmanuscriptshouldbeprovidedwithanabstractofabout100–150words.Itshouldgivethe aimoftheresearch,methodsorprocedures,significantresultsandconclusions.Defineanyabbreviationsusedinthe abstract.Thetextoftheabstractshouldcontainas manykeywordsaspossible.

Keywords.Up to 5keywordsorphrasesshouldbe givenseparatelytofacilitateindexingandon-line searching.

Introduction.The mostimportantpreviousresultsrelatedto theprobleminhandshouldbereviewedavoiding

a detailedliteraturesurveybut clearlypointingto theplaceoftheresearchinhand withinthe generalareaofscientific knowledge.Theaimandimportanceoftheresearchshouldbeclearlystated.

Experimentalsection.Thissectionshouldcontaina descriptionofthematerialsusedandmethodsemployedin formwhichmakestheresultsreproducible,but withoutdetaileddescriptionofalreadyknown methods.

Manuscriptsthatarerelatedtotheoreticalstudies,insteadofexperimentalsectionshouldcontainasub- headingtheoreticalbackgroundwherethe necessarydetailsfor verifyingtheresultsobtainedshouldbe stated.

Resultsand discussion.The authorsshould discusstheir findings,postulateexplanationsfor the data, elucidatemodelsandcomparetheirresultswiththoseofotherworks.Irrelevantcomparisons andspeculations unsupportedbythenewinformationpresentedinthemanuscriptshouldbeavoided.Theconclusionsshouldbenot

givenseparatelybutincludedinthissection.Inspecialcasesaseparatesectioncontainingconclusionscouldbe

included.

Tables.Theyshouldbegivenwithasuitablecaptionandshouldbenumberedconsecutively withArabic numerals.Footnotestotablesshouldbetypedbelowthetableandshouldbereferredtobysuperscriptlowercase letter.Eachtableshouldbetypedonaseparate sheet.Thecorrectposition ofthetablesshouldbemarkedonthe manuscript.

Figures. Figures (photographs,diagrams and schemes) should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numeralsinordertowhichtheymentionedinthetext.Theyshouldaccompany themanuscript butshouldnotbe imbedded inthetext.Eachfigureshouldbeclearlymarkedwiththefigurenumberandthefirstauthor’sname.All figuresshouldhavecaptionsthatshouldbesuppliedonaseparatesheet.Correct position ofthefiguresshouldbe markedonthemanuscript.Thesizeofthesymbolsforthephysicalquantitiesandunitsaswellasthesizeofthe

numbersandlettersusedinthereducedfiguresshouldbecomparablewiththesizeofthelettersinthemaintextof

thepaper.Eachfigureorgroupoffiguresshouldbeplannedtofit,afterappropriatereduction, intotheareaofeither oneortwocolumnsoftext.Themaximumfinishedsizeofaone-column illustrationis8.0cmandthatofatwo- columnillustration is17.0cmwidth.Makesureyouuseuniformletteringandsizingofyouroriginalartwork.All figuresshouldbeprintedonahighquality printerorgraphics plotter.Figuresshouldbealsosentinelectronicformas TIFForJPGfileswithminimum300dpiorhigherresolution.

Colorillustrationsinprintcanbeincludedonlyattheauthor'sexpense.

Units.TheSI(SystemeInternationale d'Unites)forquantitiesandunitsshouldbeusedthroughoutthewhole text.Inmarkingtheaxes,thesymbol,ofthecorresponding quantity(initalics)shouldbedividedbytheunitofthis quantity.Ifnomenclatureisspecialized,nomenclaturesectionshould beincludedattheendofthemanuscript,giving definitionsanddimensionsforallterms.

ThenamesofchemicalsubstancesshouldbeinaccordancewiththeIUPACrecommendations andrulesor

ChemicalAbstractpractice.

Formulasandequations.Chemicalequationsshouldbebalancedandnumberedconsecutively alongwith mathematical equationsorothermathematical expressions.AllofthemshouldbemarkedwithArabicnumeralsin parenthesisintherighthandmargin. Theuse ofequationeditor(Word)fortypesetting theequationsisrecommended. Strokes(/)shouldnotbeusedinsteadofparentheses.

ThecommentsandrecommendationsoftherefereesandtheEditorialBoardaresenttotheauthorsforfurther action.Theauthorsareallowed30daystoundertakerevisionsandreturnthecorrectedtexttotheEditorialBoard.
