Natural Hazards Project – Global Fever

Choose one of the following diseases:

  • Cholera

Create a posterto give advice or warnings to students who plan an international vacation. Your poster should answer the following questions:

a)In what areas (countries or areas of countries) does this disease occur?

b)What causes the disease?

c)How is it transmitted (how do you catch it)?

d)What are the symptoms of the disease?

e)How prevalent is it? (How many people are infected each year?)

f)How can this disease be treated and prevented?

Your project should demonstrate some use of creativity (use colour, attractive headings, etc) draw attention to key ideas.

Use your own words to explain your research to an audience of your peers who might need to know about the disease when traveling.

Include graphics that support the information, such as maps graphs or tables.

Reference the original source of all information or graphics.
