Employment

The Dept. for Work and Pensions does not collect nationality information for claimants of social security benefits so it is impossible to give an accurate picture of claimants by EU or any other adult overseas nationals.

Some social security benefits such as Child Benefit are universal; some are paid to those in work with low incomes or to those who are workless, providing qualifying criteria are met.

See DWP for more information:

National Insurance Number Allocations to Adult Overseas Nationals

The Dept. for Work and Pensions publishes annual statistics on the numbers of adult overseas nationals allocated a National Insurance (NINo) number for the purposes of work. All overseas nationals allocated a NINo are included in the data, regardless of their length of stay in the UK.
