Born in England Jean’s early travels and work as an Au Pair in Switzerland nurtured her desire to live and work overseas.
Her positive attitude and passion for experiencing different cultures through people, food and travel has culminated in a diverse background of skills and work experiences, throughout Europe, Caribbean, East Africa and USA. To fund future travels, she waitressed in Swiss ski resorts, and as a market trader selling arts and crafts in the South of France. A return to England for further studies in marketing led to work as a products manager and trade show organizer for a sports company. Later the opportunity to train and work as a kitchen & interior designer for a premier cabinet company, meant by default she became detail orientated with a keen insight into the world of budgets and space planning alongside a diverse workforce. Skills that have proved invaluable over time working in the marine and hospitality industries.

Career and travel plans changed when she relocated to Spain and met her future partner Mike working in the Marine and Hospitality Industries. Since the late 80’s jointly with Mike she has been involved in sailing, refitting and charter of yachts. A move to the US led to establishing her own design company in Maine, specializing in project management and ‘bespoke’ design of home interiors. Although design driven, through her catering associates, she had the opportunity to further her work experience of cooking and hospitality through catering private functions and event planning.

In 2011 she returned to yachting full time with Mike as a team and crew of a private motor yacht. Seeing a need and opportunity to offer yacht and estate owners, individual and joint specialist services has now culminated in the forming of ‘BME Global Yacht Solutions’ based out of Fort Lauderdale USA.

O B J E C T I V E

Looking to continue my career in yachting, as being self- motivated and detail orientated I truly enjoy the many facets that the job entails. Whether ensuring owner and guests have a memorable stay on board through my best efforts of hospitality and service. To preparing varied menus inspired by local cuisine, a special occasion or a family favorite. To organizing the daily routine of housekeeping and service. This is what gives me the enthusiasm and motivation to want to keep working in the yachting industry.
