GREAT BASIN NATIONAL PARK ANNOUNCES Opening of Concession Contract Bid Process

Great Basin National Park Superintendent Cindy Nielsen announced the new fee schedule effective Sunday, January 2, 2005. The changes will take effect in phases.

Great Basin National Park Superintendent Cindy Nielsen announces that the National Park Service (NPS) will issue a Prospectus soliciting proposals for a concession contract to provide Merchandise and Food and Beverage Services within the park.The park and business opportunity are located approximately 70 miles east of Ely, Nevada and five miles west of Baker, Nevada off U.S. Highway 6/50 at the end of Nevada State Highway 488. The Prospectus explains the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract.The Director of the NPS, pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is a preferred offeror for the contract.The Prospectus will be issued April 9, 2007, for a 64-day response period.

Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by the Concessions Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, California 94607 no later than 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time, on Tuesday, June 12, 2006 in order to be evaluated and considered.

The prospectus is available electronically on the web at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/news.cfm or hardcopies are available upon request. Requests to receive a printed version of the Prospectus may be sent to Erik Busker, Concession Management Analyst, Pacific West Region Concessions, 1111 Jackson Street, Oakland, CA 94607 or by email at . There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express, or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (cash or credit card will not be accepted) must be made payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive it by Federal Express.
