National Training Manager

Responsible to: Director of Quality and Workforce Development

Responsible for: Early Years Adviser Team; Events Team

Location: Head Office, Huddersfield

Salary: Band E £32,000 to £34,847

Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)

National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) is a national charity and the membership association representing children’s day nurseries across the UK, giving them information, training and support, so they can provide the best possible care to young children. NDNA is the voice of the day nursery sector, an integral part of the lives of nearly one million children and their families. NDNA works with local and national government to develop an environment in which quality early years education and care can flourish.

Main purpose of the job

The post holder will work with the departmental Director to identify and steer development and delivery of training programmes, projects and contracts. The post holder will manage the overarching quality control and delivery of a flexible portfolio of accredited, non accredited and endorsed programmes to support the development of the early years workforce across England, Wales and Scotland.They will oversee contracts delivered by the department and will have budget and staff management responsibilities. The post holder is required to work regularly across other departmental teams to ensure targets are achieved.

Main duties

·  Delivery, development and periodic review of NDNA’s product portfolio.

·  Initiate, manage and achieve KPI’s and annual budgets for all areas of responsibility, working as required with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met

·  Provide support in setting up of project systems and processes to ensure contractual obligations are met

·  Working with internal teams to develop annual strategies for product development and marketing plans in response to member needs

·  Work with NDNA teams across England, Scotland and Wales to manage the delivery of training and development solutions

·  Support the development of funding applications

·  Manage the overarching quality control and delivery of training programmes including accredited training centre requirements

·  Manage training/business support programme, including:

­  Managing of the Early Years Adviser Team and the Events Team

­  Deploy resources effectively to meet NDNA delivery standards and targets (qualitative and quantitative), giving support and guidance as necessary

­  Manage associates maintaining coverage, scope, professional competency and quality of delivery across England, Scotland and Wales

­  Develop monthly reports

­  Attend contract performance review meetings and finance meetings

·  Work across other teams to review and embed NDNA’s Training Quality Management system to meet awarding body and funders’ requirements

·  Assess impact of training and delivery of services, conduct evaluation and analyse findings, using information to assess ROI

·  Produce management information to inform organisation on activity and performance against KPI’s

·  Work with external partners to develop alternative flexible delivery solutions

·  Maximise opportunities for growth through:

­  Seeking out, securing and maintaining external relationships with delivery partners

­  Identification and initiation of new services

­  Attending external events to maximise opportunities for delivery

·  Maintain up to date professional knowledge in training and development and the early years sector

·  Reporting progress to the Director of Quality and Workforce Development

·  Deputising in the absence of the Director of Quality and Workforce Development

·  Any other duties reasonably requested by line management and commensurate with the post
