INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION SUBMISSION

For your application to be considered, the following application instructions must be followed.

  1. All applications must be typed. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Please type your name on the top of each document.
  2. Application must be submitted by email. Each email should include two or three attachments.

a)a single WORD document representing pages 3 through 7 of the application form. Do not submit each page as a separate WORD document.

b) a scanned copy of the signature page (page 7) of the application (Part B, Consent of Supervisor) if you have professional responsibilities at school during the dates of the study tour. If you do not require supervisor’spermission to participate in the study tour program, please type your name on the signature line (Part A, Applicant Agreement) and submit as a single Word document (see a).

c)a scanned copy of the signature and photo pages of your passport.

  1. Scan documents to a manageable file size. Attachments larger than one megabyte will not be accepted.

Because of the volume of Writers applications submitted, the Council for Economic Education cannot respond to individual email or phone inquiries regarding receipt or status of applications. Applicants wishing to verify receipt by the Council for Economic Education of application documents or of letters of recommendation should utilize mailbox management functions available on email accounts, such as read confirmation and delivery confirmation.

Following your return from the Writers Program, participants are required to submit a unique, individual lesson. This will require planning and field-testing the lesson. The deadline dates are as follows:

c)Access to field test teachers in your locality - participants will be required to field test their lesson in January - March in three or more classrooms other than their own. The Training of Writers Program will take place during the academic yearfor some applicants. All applicants with teaching, work, and/or other academic responsibilities must obtain the signed consent of their supervisor to participate in Writers Program.

B. Participant Agreement

The Council for Economic Educationdoes not provide medical travel insurance to cover costs of medical services such as emergency care, doctor’s visits, hospitalization, or medication. The Council for Economic Education is not responsible for such costs. Council for Economic Education encourages you to contact your medical insurance carrier to determine (1) if your policy will cover overseas expenses, and (2) how payment for services will be reimbursed. The Council for Economic Education provides emergency medical evacuation insurance to all international participants.
