The national conference on Indian Botanic Gardens was conceptualised with an objective of creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas on the various aspects of botanic gardens in India.

The major issues to be deliberated in the conference are

1. Present status of ex-situ conservation in Indian Botanic Gardens.

2. Formulation of a common conservation strategy.

3. Defining the role of the Botanic Gardens for sustainable utilization of plant species.

About Lucknow

Lucknow is the capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The multicultural city is known for poetry, dance, music, gardens, embroidery works and Nawabi-style cuisines. With four CSIR insititutes, BSIP and other reputed institutes, the city is known as ‘Science City’ being a major centre for research and development of the country.

Weather:Lucknow has a humid subtropical climate with cool, dry winters from November to February and dry, hot summers from April to June. The average maximum and minimum temperatures in November are 27°C and 10°C respectively.

Connectivity:The city is well connected to all major cities of the country by rail, road and air. There is direct trains to and from New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jammu, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Jaipur. Direct air connections are available in Lucknow to New Delhi, Patna, Calcutta, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram.

Abstract

Abstract should not exceed 300 words (along with six keywords) typed in A4 size paper (MS Word, Times News Roman Font, Font size 12). The abstracts will be reviewed by a committee.

Oral - Duration of oral presentation should not exceed 20 mins.

Poster - Size of the poster should not exceed 120 cm (height) and 90 cm (width). Content of the poster should be readable from 1.5 m distance.
