National Co-ordinator – Job Description

The National Co-ordinator should:

  • Ensure the Aims & Values are upheld nationwide.
  • Work within, support and encourage the Aims & Values in all aspects of Revelation.
  • Have a driven vision for the short and long term futures of Revelation.
  • Ensure that Revelation is prayed for regularly
  • Respect, understand and support the Christian basis of Revelation.
  • Travel to encourage and support choirs when requested or needed.
  • Encourage participation and enjoyment in all aspects of Revelation.
  • Enthuse and inspire Revvers about Revelation and national events.
  • Ensure effective training is provided for choir committees when requested.
  • Chair National Forum 4 times a year.
  • Ensure decisions and votes made by Forum are quorate.
  • Support the National Reps and ensure they understand what their role entails.
  • Lead, manage and support the volunteer team and ensure they are achieving their full potential.
  • Actively seek and encourage potential new volunteers.
  • Ensure that members of the volunteer team are aware of the other roles on the team and that they know how to contact each other.
  • Ensure that choirs are aware of the different positions on the volunteer team and that they know who to contact (and how) in any given situation.
  • Facilitate the appointment of a WiM Co, sit on the WiM Leadership team and provide ‘umbrella’ support at the event.
  • Act as a mediator when conflict arises at national events as well as between/within choirs and committees.
  • Remain neutral in times of conflict, citing only information and facts (though very occasionally opinion may be necessary).
  • Approve expenditure of charity funds, seeking approval of the trustees for large amounts.
  • Be a signatory on the charity bank account.
  • Be the primary link between the trustees and the choir members, and meet with the Trustees 3 or 4 times a year and when requested to do so.
  • Store paperwork, equipment and other items relating to the history of Revelation.
  • Look after and use the Revelation printer and hard drive.
  • Promote the profile of Revelation Rock-Gospel Choirs both internally and externally.
  • Represent Revelation Rock-Gospel Choirs to the public. This will include responding to external e-mails and making brief announcements/speeches at national concerts and events.

Directly responsible for: National Administrator, Financial Administrator, Prayer and Pastoral Care Coordinator, Network Support Volunteers, Music Advisor, Funraising Co-ordinator, Media nd Publicity Oficer, WiM Co-ordinator and Resits Co-ordinator

Accountable to: The Trustees.

Person Specification

The National Co-ordinator should:

  • Be approachable, understanding and able to be objective, with excellent communication skills.
  • Be an active member of a choir, but not currently on a committee or running a choir.
  • Have significant experience of Revelation at a national level.
  • Have respect for the Christian faith.
  • Have vision for Revelation.
Job Information
  • This post is voluntary and should only be done alongside another part-time job.
  • On average, the job requires around two days a week. There are periods where this will increase or decrease depending on the time of year.
  • Most expenses relating to the job are paid.
  • The nature of this job changes rapidly as the organisation grows, so be warned!
  • This is a two year position. After two years, the post will be re-elected (although you may stand again if you wish).
  • Access to the internet is vital (contribution towards the cost is available).
