II. Application
Application procedure for exchange at International Office / 1. Application requirements:
·  participants are enrolled students at NCCU and the IO at NCCU recommends suitable candidates
·  recommended participants´ knowledge of the German language: at least B2 (pls. see below)
2. Further procedure:
·  recommended candidates send letter of motivation (in English), transcript of record (in English), Statement of German Knowledge (pls. see below) to the International Office at UA
·  The IO (e.g. Birgit Kirchner) has a look through the application documents and notifies the students whether they can study at the University of Augsburg
·  after positive notification the students can apply online (pls. see below)
·  visa & dorms can be applied for after the students received the “Zulassungsbescheid” (letter of acceptance) à dorms: Dr. Sabine Tamm (), visa: German Embassy
·  students can enrol after arrival in Augsburg

Preliminary language training classes provided? / Language courses are held two weeks before the beginning of the winter semester: two courses each at lower intermediate (B1) and higher intermediate (B2) level. The courses last two weeks and end with a voluntary test that decides whether you can participate in Level 1 or Level 2 German courses during the semester. Students with advanced German skills can participate in the free courses held by the department of “Deutsch als Fremdsprache” (German as a Foreign Language, DaF for short). These courses are held during the semester. All those interested in DaF courses have to take a placement test, which is held at the beginning of each winter and summer semester.

IV. Scholarship
Any scholarship provided to exchange program? / There can be no scholarships provided, nevertheless exchange students will NOT have to pay the regular tuition fee of 500 Euros.

Maximum beds offered to every partner school? / We have a very small capacity of dorm beds for exchange students (summer semester is better than winter semester). Therefore the distribution to the exchange students would be on a case to case base.
Any limitation or suggestion on accommodation? / If wanted, students can also find a room of their own. Usually, German students live in shared housing off campus
